FPC Taccom Scope Mount Review 8-15-2023

This is a review of the Taccom M&P FPC Scope Mount 8-15-2023.
I liked it for the most part, the only fault I could find in it is NOT even with the factory rails on the barrel. It appears to be about 1/16th of an inch higher. Looks good though.... I will go out and use it and zero the RD in this coming weekend!

I think I found a major irrus with the FPC after I picked up this rail addon. If you zero a scope with a bipod on the front bottom of the barrel and the FPC resting on the bipod, when you pick up the rifle to shoot in a standing position (not using the bipod or any rest) the end of the barrel deflects down. There is a weak spot it seems where the folding joint is. Can you check this out on yours?

Wish I could get one here in Canada, was looking at the charging handle and buttstock as well

I have no desire or intention of replacing the butt stock or charging handle. I have no reason too, and it won't be of any great advantage for the amount of money spent on the items.

I can agree on the buttstock as the one on it currently serves its intended purpose fine as is, but that charge handle is in an awkward spot as far as personal feel goes so I wouldn’t mind trying something different. To each their own.

i saw that and passed on it. i have a feeling smith and wesson is going to make a part to swap out the top part of the receiver to connect to the rail with the other rail. ill will be calling them about this soon. they should have this option.

@BubbaBuoy no, I wrote it on their forums as a wish list. But other than that. That's all I've done. Just keep writing about it, and maybe I'll be an option one day.

Finish mounting to proper torque specs, then check level.

Even when I put in all 6 screws and tightened them, the height between the scope mount and barrel rails didn't change!

@blackwolfccw would consider changing the handgaurd on the FPC with a taccom extreme light handgaurd?

Just ordered one last night. After reading through the comments, I see you've gone back to mounting on the handguard. Was there any specific reason for discontinuing use? I am mounting a Primary Arms SLx 1x prism optic, so I wanted it mounted further back. But if there are noticeable changes in accuracy or function, I will avoid using it. Thanks for the videos, you have some of the only FPC upgrades on the tube! I also snagged one of the butt stocks from taccom, so I'll let you know how it goes and if it's really worth the $95 upgrade. Eventually I'll snag a handguard as well, but figured I'd see if anything else comes out over the next 6 months.

So your red dot will be between .063 and .125 more north which can easily be corrected for. How do feel about east/west with it on the receiver instead of hand rail? Leaving BUIS on hand rail?

I just got mine but don't have the correct size allen to remove the original screws. Anyone know what size I need to get to remove the original screws?

If a small washer was placed strategically, that would be better than the ballpein hammer tweak.

THere is a reason you mount them to the barrel section not the reciever and that is because there isnt any play between the barrel and rail, Vs the barrel then through a folding mechanism then the rail. Your just adding inaccuracy and error. But hey you do you. @@hollowpointdefense

@@ethanwijlens402 I just prefer it there. I have had no inaccuracy issues at all. I have seen no difference in either spot yet. Even if there is some sort of inaccuracy tolerance, it will not be noticeable. Hasn't been yet.

What about for a prism optic? Where having it on the barrel rail will have you forcing you to unnaturally lean your head toward on the gun to be within the eyebox
