Proceeds from this event go mainly to the site for essential maintenance to preserve it's history. Further proceeds cover time, effort and event expenses.

How are you going to manage channels? How much airtime does £50 get as it's hard enough with a few lads flying sometimes. Be interested to understand before spending money

Fair point. We can’t specify an exact amount of airtime. It’s a balance between making it a big enough event to be cool and giving pilots enough time to fly. There will be 8 spaced out take off pads assigned to different channels, 4 in one area, 4 in another (one is a reserve channel). You can queue at any take off pad any time. There will be busier times and quieter times like early vs midday. Because it’s a 2 day event with other things happening there should be times to fly, and when not flying doing other things like lunch, chatting, repairs, and the entertainment we’re adding. There’s a bit more to it but that’s the basics. Hope that helps

If you dont get air time, rainworth 4x4 off road track is right behind the colliery, there is an old quarry there as well, go and follow some 4x4's and off road bikes (free of charge) This time of year they are normally there till about 2ish in the morning, they get there about 7 in the evening so plenty of light left to go over and check it out

I have only recently started flying and still on my tinyhawk 2. Have a 5 inch arriving this week but not flown one yet. Not sure whether I should attend as just a spectator as I might not be good enough to fly there. Do you have any advice on what to do?

We’re looking to setup a clear flight area for newer pilots. As long as you can set your video channel I’d say go for the pilot pass as you could always just fly the TinyHawk 2

Nice one! Both digital and analogue can get Raceband channels, so with the proper setup and spacing it works out fine. There is a lot going on behind the scenes to set this up so that it runs as smoothly as possible 😀

Digital and Analogue will all be assigned raceband channels, spaced apart and limited to 200mw power. It's the same flight line setup as the Rotor Riot Rampage event.

Hi I really need your help because I'm 14 years old and I have my fpv drone wich I can fly I would say pretty well and my dad is coming but he can't fly do we only get 1 pilot pass and one spectator pass or something else please get back soon !

It's nice to have an event that is not racing but sorry to tell you that 100 pilots (or now 75) in a field where only 4 pilots with 200mw can fly at the same time at best is completely unrealistic. Let alone if you only have 2 people in organization. In racing pilots are remited to using the same flying location, but with freestyle they won't be, meaning a lot more possible stopages for collecting down crafts or even rescuing some. At 60£ a head people might be pretty upset if they can't even get more then 1 failed flight during their stay. Not to be a downer, but you might consider adding other things to do at your event that don't rely solely on flying like inviting pro pilots to come talk to new pilots or short courses on how to build drones for the new people attending, or just drone related activities that don't require VTX so people can still enjoy without blocking a channel. Anyway seems like a pretty big endevour so I hope you can get more people in organization. Best of luck!

Some good points. There are more than 2 of us organising it (it’s just lead by me and Peter). We will definitely have more happening than just flying. It won’t be as big as Rotor Riot Rampage but they have shown that it’s possible 😊
