Fixed wing guys been doing this same idea for a long time - I think most people are more worried about a catastrophic crash on their quads. This is a great little mount though and I may try this for my planes.

Is the connector for the vista and o3 module really the same? I had to repin my o3 unit when it came :/

Yup its the same. Didnt have to change anything for me. Did u use a diff fc?

make a small pcb circuit with a pushbutton that can be used to switch between O3 and vista just by pressing the button. You need to have a dual O3 to FC cable harness so that no need to unplug from FC. Just keep that harness FC to dual Air unit harness plugged in all the time and that connects to the PCB with a push button and a mini relay circuit to switch between 2 air units. So that whenever u want to use this O3 ready go kit all you need to do is plug the cable already hanging out from your FC and press the push button to switch the connection from vista to O3 and if you want to use vista just unplug this O3 and that saves some time in unscrewing top plate and removing the cable from vista and connecting back to o3, anyways your idea is cool as i said doesn't works with cinewhoops

If flies well, I wld buy xtra wires n leave it connected to d FCs in all quads n I simply move around d O3 to each quad. 😅 Unfortunately I have already bought several O3 sets for each of my quads b4 yr vid. Yea crashes will be an issue so i guess its better for cruisers or cinewhoops. As for resonance, its not that bad. But if you’re worried abt it maybe you can remix the backpack to be a frame-specific mount. 🤙🏾🤙🏾

It is a good concept, unfortunately the DJI O3 isn't durable enough to handle this configuration. People break GoPro's daily being top mounted, while the vtx camera usually survives inside the frame.

Yea man thats the only downside. Works well for cruisers and cinewhoops but for freestyle maybe not. From experience, the o3 could take a beating tho. But i will not purposely push it 😂

Be good for a wing, but I'd be hesitant about that particular design. I'd want it to be mounted inside one with feet bolted onto the frame rather than the type with eyelets & a screw. These tear really easily. Good video & idea. Just need a better tpu mount is all. Good job. 👍🏻

This makes no sense at all, when i still have to use tweezers or remove the top plate and use a plug on the FC. if i ever will do this, the plug should be fixed on top plate. maybe using the green mpx plugs or something else with 4 or 6 pins depeding on the radio used. but if yo use it like this way you have to give up some things: 1 weight, 2 safe position in frame and most important you use a vibrations source with this mount, because the antenne is also on it. that is not a good solution. i just bought naked gopros for my bigger quads, because i got sic after changing the cams between the flights the whole day. i would rather stay with the vistas and gopro, before i got to the O3. its just not enough.

I just worked on what i currently have in my builds to show how easy it is as an example. How you wish to run it is of coz up to u. There you go, u already have ideas on how to improve it by just watching this simple video. Thats the whole idea in making a basic video, room for improvement by the user to match individual needs.

​@@AlfieDoug you dont have to be clever to do this, this is base knowledge of the hobby if you want to multi swap a fc or something else. swapping a O3 maybe usefull, but not with this adjustable mount and the oa weight with AU and Antenna and this cube case. i do not even think a good video quality is possible with that. just too much weight on a not rigid prat outside the frame. but lets see.... what the video quality will be.
