Ian demonstrates the split elevon setup on his FG36 Legit Wing. This aircraft has been scrapped, but perhaps more will follow.

RIP Samm. Love the split elevon setup!

This is an awesome build. I’m pretty sure this set up is called “Duckerons” like on the B-2 bomber.

OMG. That would be a fun build. Will have to research the Taranis setup for this. cool work mate.

I use the same clamshell dragerons on a flying wing sailplane, but I have a servo on each side, but the result is the same.

That's suuuper cool! I bet it took you a ton of work to get the ailerons coordinated when they were moving in the same direction. I wonder, do you think you could have had an acceptable level of control if you just set them up as spoilers instead of elevons? In other words, the top "layer" only moves up and the bottom "layer" only moves down. That way you wouldn't have to worry about binding (other than adjusting the center point), but you'd still have full control with yaw and brakes and all that. Might have to increase throw on either side a little to account for the surface that doesn't move.

Hey Youngster!! You wouldn't mind if you can share the procedure of the how to do this??

I put flaps "flaperons" on a an old slope wing, more like crow adjustment really trying to catch it on gnarly exposed cliffs. Never go it to improve my roll rate.

Could you show us the radio set up.. Thanks

For braking i think reverse throttling motor i.e spin same motor in opposite direction is better idea. First came in parrot disco

Can you comment on the yaw authority of this approach vs. a laterally split elevon (one up, one down)?
@FPVTeamLegit Жыл бұрын
I've yet to fly something with a split as you describe, but my current hypothesis is that increasing the sideboard area would improve the yaw authority of any setup.

Did you figure out how to do this in INav, and not touch the radio? That would make for a great video imo.

genius... but why not use airbrakes from glider plane? (disturb the airflow on top of the wing)
@b00sted_mx595 жыл бұрын
we need a flight video please.
@hygrometer5 жыл бұрын
is it for air brakes? That will kill the airfoil anyway, lose control.
