I’ve always been amazed at the speed and minimalist approach you use when building. Even though this was sped up, I get the feeling that you could build the wing in less than an hour. Other wing builders that labor and fret over their builds for hours are “horrified,” but your build really puts it all in perspective: it’s just a piece of foam. That said, I gotta give some props to Hugo and my wing provider, Ritewing for pulling out the win at the recent games. Wish I could have been there! 😎

I am a ridiculously slow builder. My builds can be timed with a sun dial left in the shade... If it is not made simple, I will never get the plane built.

What do you think about the smaller elevons? Did they work out okay for you in the race? I watched the race and I assume it is more stable this way but was the maneuverability enough during those turns? Thanks for sharing as usual.

hot glue and coroplast winglets works very well you just need to prep the area alittle. I trace the wingtip area onto the winglet and than sand that area very well, even using a razor blade to puncture holes into the plastic. Than make sure you apply hot glue on the winglet AND the wingtip and than apply. If you did it right you can look down the coroplast flutes/tunnels and see the hotglue is now inside the winglet. Thats not going to come off easily.

This is great... but I usually rip the foam. I need to try the pinning method I have seen many people do.

Where can I dowload the STL for the fpv camera mount? The wing profile of the V2 is the same as the V1? Could i use the Scuddydrones fpvwra vas wing camera mount on the v2? Thanks!!!

I've started to install my electronics before laminating. Find it easier and the finish is cleaner, by laminating over the servos, vtx, and esc.

Where do you get the material to make the solder iron tips ? Also wondering why we should need to check that wing is in spec when we are ordering something that should already meet specs ? Nice how to vid . Hopefully all the stuff will be in stock soon . I see the planes but no motors yet . Also hope we get some racing on the west coast soon

5 mil is what I use on almost everything. Some times I will put a strip of 10 mil along the leading edge.

What is a good source for the extra spar? What diameter is it?

I get all my spars from a company called "Goodwinds" here in the USA. I use fiberglass rather than carbon fiber due to RF issues. I tend to use 0.93" diameter spars for this type of support. As a side note, running fiber strapping tape along the back also does wonders for support of the rearward tear problem.
