Not to one up you in any way or to come off as a know it all. Back in the 80s I found that water proof marine wheel barring grease, works grate and stays in place no matter what. It's the grease you use for wheel barring's on a boat trailer or heave equipment like dozers, tractors and excavators. The kind I have is made by Quaker State and is 100% synthetic. Some info on this grease, OBCS (Over based Calcium Sulfonate) Typical weld point of 500 Kg the minimum industry standard is 200 Kg Timken Load 65 lbs Dropping point 570 °F Provides rust and corrosion protection in both fresh water and salt water environments Effective Water Resistance Long Lasting Resist Extreme Pressure Extreme Friction Reducer I hope this helps.

It doesn't hurt to lubricate your AK, it never does. The way we treat our military issued RK's, M/62 and M/95 models, is that we dry them with a piece of cloth *before* we shoot with them. I.e. we shoot them dry. Why? The oil is just to prevent them rusting, lubrication is not an issue. An AK runs with ammo, when an AR runs with oil. The leftover tiny film of oil is well enough to lessen the wear from the metal to metal friction of the moving parts. When the temperature hits below -20C we lubricate them with kerosine which actually prevents the moving parts from freezing up, not to be confused with lubrication really. This is the way we've been treating our AK's for the last 60 years and they are still running just fine. I do concur with the advice from Mr. Fuller: if you have an AK, he's the man and you should listen carefully what ever he's got to say about AK's.

I bought a tube of that white grease the same day I saw this video and it was also the same day I made the switch from gun oil to grease. Greased it how he did it in the video, only thing is I forgot to grease the front flat surfaces of the carrier where it rides the rails. But I did do the rear and everything else. That’s still fine, once you drop it into that open slot of the receiver and run it back and fourth a few times, the rear grease will spread on the rails and the front surfaces will get touched up with grease as well. Just an fyi, if anyone else also forgets to grease a contact point or two, when you cycle it, that grease will spread its way to those contact points. Just use very little, and spread it out.

I would like Mr. Fuller's thoughts on Zatstava m70s. I love mine, but because Zatstava isn't like a normal AKM it's weird/difficult getting parts.
@StudentOfWarCustoms Жыл бұрын
There was a livestream where Jim Fuller talked about Zastava back when he still owned Rifle Dynamics. He didn't recommend Zastava and if one was sent in he'd require the receiver be changed to even work on a zastava because the heat treatment is questionable.
@AK-47ISTHEWAY Жыл бұрын
The Zastava ZPAP-M70's are great. Currently they've been adopted by 21 different nations militaries. The civilian versions that we get in America are made to the exact same specs except they don't have the select fire feature and they did away with the flip up grenade launcher front sight. If they were really that bad then I'm sure Zastava wouldn't be continuously getting military contracts. I got one back in July and I love it.

@Hjerte_Verke2 жыл бұрын
He said he generally doesn't use it on the bolt stem but I do as well as a light coat on all bolt parts and the lug channel in the bolt carrier. It doesn't have to be lithium grease. It can be nearly any axle/bearing grease, red grease, synthetic Super Lube, etc.
