I was blessed to hear Papa Demetrios speak in a small group at an Orthodox Book Store a couple of weeks ago, thank God. He knows my Priest very well and told me I have a very good Priest. Glory to God! Never ever compromise your faith!! Love that from Papa! ☦️

I sincerely believe that the idea of heaven is a profound misunderstanding of the teachings of Christ. If you have felt the core tracing of Christ - love and radical acceptance of what is - you will feel a peace that renders all other scripture, even the intellect irrelevant. You achieve heaven right at the moment within your own body, you don't need to wait until the end of life. You cannot sin because you understand that sinning is simply a stupid act, a debasement in comparison to living the wonder of that acceptance. If we look at the example of Christ, he made no protest as he was arrested, tried, convicted, dragged through the streets and brutally crucified. He did not fight back, or even resist - that is how radical his acceptance was. He forgave those who crucified him a merely idiots.This is the absolute core of Christ's example - accepting what you cannot change without resistance. It seems simple, but once you really truly have that experience the idea of heaven isn't interesting because you are living in heaven already in your own body and communion with Christ.
