Yarn: Queensland Collection, Recycled Tweed
(40% recycled wool, 40% recycled polyester, 20% recycled acrylic)
Colors: Liquorice & Alabaster
Warp length 3-1/2 yards, 10 inches wide in the reed
12 ends per inch
12 picks per inch (approximately)
As many folks know, there is a shortage of Catholic priests in the United States, so our parish now has a priest who is from southern India. He has never seen snow, and is not used to cold winters, so I thought one thing that he will need this winter is a good warm scarf. I don't want his neck to get too cold.

Hi Estee; First thanks for watching my videos, and WOW, 3 comments in one night on 2 videos! So, your questions: Colors on the multi colored scarf, the bright colored scarf is the Carnival color 9960 by www.circuloyarns.com/whoopee For that scarf and the other one that you commented on the pattern is Plain Weave. So in both cases I only needed 2 shafts. But, just because my treadles were set up for Twill, I used 4 shafts but treadled 1&3 versus 2&4 allowing me to get a plain weave structure. As for how to thread the heddles and the reed, those are different questions. So first the reed: look at the following 2 videos of me using the TemoWeave program for designing my projects. At about the 2:40 mark in kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6Tcimutm6aFjc0 , and at about the 4:50 mark in kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIeVhJJ9g8eceZY you can see the THREADING along the top of the drawdown. That is where I determine which threads will go on which shafts. And now about the reed. That is determined by the size, or thickness of the yarn, when I decide how many ends per inch I want, and I almost always try to center my weaving on the loom. So for example, if I want to make a scarf that is 12 inches wide, at 10 threads (ends) per inch, I will use a 10 dent reed, and count over 6 inches from the center, and start threading the reed at that point. I've only did weaving by making string type shaft like the back strape weaving now I'm ready to buy one. By watching your videos and your answering my questions is so helpful and I know I'm making the right choice in looking at 8 shafts now
