Why did Fr Lazarus become a Coptic monk when he was already baptised in the Serbian Orthodox Church and then was tonsured a monk as Father Gregory in the Serbian Orthodox Church and lived in Serbian monasteries in Australia and Serbia and also for a time on holy Mount Athos at the monastery of Philotheou which was under the spiritual eldership of Father Ephraim, disciple of St Joseph the Hesychast???

It is my understanding that he was rejected by both the Catholic monetary and Orthodox ones but the Coptic Church accepted him.

He was tonsured a monk in the Eastern Orthodox Church but was guided by the Holy Spirit and found that the Coptic Orthodox Church was always a persecuted church and had the least blood in its hands, if any at all. The Byzantine church persecuted the Coptic Orthodox Christians and killed many after Chalcedon. The Virgin Mary and St Anthony regularly visit Fr Lazarus and guided him to where he is today. Today many put down the Oriental Orthodox Churches and utter words of hatred and argue nonsense but as my spiritual father taught me, “God does not need lawyers, but seeks for lovers.” May God have mercy
