I just want to point out from the perspective of a person with legit carpal tunnel. It is not limited to just your fingers. Your entire arm will go numb, and not only that it will result in some of the most horrific pain you can imagine. I thought my nerves were dying. I have had to sleep with braces on both of my hands for over a year now, and it has only dulled down a bit. Carpal tunnel is no joke. It can happen immediately with barely any warning.

I tossed it to the side, moved my mouse pad farther back on my desk and started going through some of your other videos. Good to know man. Subbed, the wrist excercises are already a good help. Turns out its just general fatigue which makes sense when I play for like 8 hours.

hey, thankyou for making this vid, cause alot of other vids ive watched seemed to be vague, and dont give enough details to how it actually relates to how we use work/gaming areas, either that or i just miss those points. lol. ive been waking up with numb thumb index and middle fingers for the past 2 years, im 27, and i watched your hand strech vid and it is awesome. im due for another wrist check scan soon. i also found that getting tkl or 60% board has really help with getting into comfortable positions, ive also been contemplating whether or not to get a wrist brace to help reduce excisive motion during computer usage. im also an engineering student, so that cant really be help. your intro is awesome. anyway, thanks heaps for your vids. i hope to catch your streams one day.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I've been really scared that I might not be able to draw again because I thought I had early stages of carpal tunnel syndrome or something serious, but after watching your videos and reflecting on my habits. I tend to sleep and clench my arms tightly, I also rest my arms on my knees and put pressure on them a lot, and when I'm at my desk i always have my arms close to my body in a position that might be causing the pain too. I'll try my best to reduce these habits in the coming month and see what happens.

The two things he said, that cause CTS, I've been doing for the last 8 months gaming on k&m. I've been to emergency 3 times complaining about numbness. Everybody just got really quit after describing to symptoms. I had to research on my own, to find out what was going on with me. I remember it started the first time I tried k&m for gaming, it strained my fingers, so I stayed on controller. I decided to give it another try, and now that's my preferred method of input. I also have old hand, wrists, and finger injuries that makes me a prime candidate for CTS. Since they won't treat my condition, I've resorted to hand, fingers, wrists exercises, and going hybrid. Wish I would have found this video before I started keyboarding. I even used to rest my wrist on my desk when I used controller.

A nice and educational video! interesting, the cubital tunnel symdrome seems to be the case for me, but interestingly i don't feel numbness, pain and tingling, but it feels like when i'm sitting on my legs too much and the blood flow is not proper (don't know if this is a proper way of describing it D:). I use my left hand on the keyboard not straight, but a bit tilted on the left side of it, which seems to be the problem(it's sort of a habit at this point ) and i also use a very hard desk and going to get a xxl sized mouse pads to give it some support, maybe that helps.

hey dude! i watched your whole video. very interesting tips. i got a new office chair for my desk amd i have to say... its been really awkward. you see during this lockdown i got real bad rsi on my fingers, and previously ive had a history with wrist/forearm rsi. before, i wouldnt use armrests at all. id lay my forearms on the desk to play. later i got a chair (a bad one) with super hard immobile armrests that were awkward to use as u couldnt really adjust them. i didnt best to keep my arms on those. during lockdown however i typed much more than usual and also got into fightings games. my fingers (wrist a little, mostly fingers) were devastated. i typed on a cheap k120 and i learned to type with all my fingers but even so my index fingers developed pain. didnt help the k120 has a weird tendency to become really stiff out of nowhere sometimes even if new. so! i bought a new chair. issue? ... its super wide. seat is 50cm and total width is a scary 70cm. but it seems all office chairs are like this??? god, those ""gamer"" ones are even worse. how can i get around this? also, are mechanical keyboards better? my doctor told me that even if i got a mechanical kb, since they dont require bottoming out to type on, ot should be low profile. mech kb pros have told me LP is ass as you bottom out anyway. im not sure what to do at this point, lol. ive considered buying a split but theyre too expensive. i bought a ms ergo keyboard (the corded one) but the keys are deeeeep. and that suuuuucks for a membrane. what should i do?

I’ve only watched a couple of your vids but I now have hope that I can still play my much loved games as they help with bad anxiety and social interactions as I love destiny franchise . I literally done one stretch exercise session and the stiffness has totally gone and my thumbs have stopped cracking so much. I have a feeling that something as little as a few exercises and help from you vids I feel totally optimistic now as I was very down in the dumps. So thanks 🤩 you are a star n keep up the good work x

I used to experience this for a while, it wouldn’t be every day but it would come out of no where from playing pc after a while and I started feeling numbness, the first time it lasted maybe a few hours (I don’t know exactly how long) I got it often enough that I had it for over a full day and through the night, very frustrating. Thankyou for this video

Great video. Gaming gets harder and harder the older I get. I've worked in a machine shop for 8 years and have trigger finger on both my middle fingers. Hurts all the time.

I thought about getting the Redragon P036 wristrest, but after looking at the Wooting, I think I'll like it better. Since I play rhythm games on my keyboard on a bar in my garage, sitting in a bar stool (with a back), I've had some pretty bad discomfort with my wrists for a while now. Hope this helps.

I dont use a wrist wrest and I have my elbows ALWAYS HORIZONTAL and with space, but maybe because when I Am playing fortnite(kbm) I maybe do tio much pressure and I only felt that pain 2 times in my life one like 5 months ago and the other more than a year ago! I play exacly like 10:36 but felt that pain one day and I was worried if it was tendonitis, maybe the long palmar one!! But thank um soo much for making my doubts disappear!!

I’ve had next to no issues with my hands when concerning games(Usually had more issues with MnK though), but that all changed after not even *3 DAYS* of having a fight stick. My hand became really sore and hurt pretty badly after just messing around doing wavedashes in Tekken. That sucks too, since those things are really fun to play on.

Things are bound to hurt when your body is adapting to a new movement or skill if it utilizes muscles that you aren’t used to using. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Monitor your pain, and if it’s lasting for longer than 2-3 days then you may need to change something. But if it’s just soreness and adapting to a new thing, some stretching and exercise will likely take care of it. Good luck and have fun!

Nice advices and info video! I do not experience tingling or loss of sensation atm. But what I experience is pain with hot sensation at two spots. Wrist (where carpal tunnel is so middle, and more on the thumb side 1 cm down from wrist line) and second spot is the muscle 'pillow' under thumb if u know what I mean. Do you have any idea what that could be? I visited neuro doctors, but because I deal with cubital tunnel syndrom in the past and I manage it with rehab and exercises home, they think its because of it as well somehow ....
