Could you explain this further please, 1:27.. Why exactly the second and fourth slot?
@nineball0396 жыл бұрын
The motherboard manual will explain which two slots are optimal for two DIMM's. The second and fourth slots are a common design among mobo manufacturers but always read the manual first! More: all modern mobo's will run two DIMM's in dual channel mode (in lay terms - it's faster) if the two correct slots are used. In this instance, slots 2 and 4 are dual channel as are slots 1 and 3 if using four DIMM's.

Great help, thank you. I was just wondering if my suspicion is correct, that you shouldn't (or even can't) put 3 fans at the front while also keeping the 3.5" holder at the bottom, because then the PSU cables have to turn sharply as soon as they leave the PSU, and that makes me nervous. Seems like if you want both the PSU and 3.5" box to be comfortable you should omit the 3rd (bottom) front fan 🤔
@ithertzz5 жыл бұрын
GlacialImpala I've been looking for this too but I've seen it done in build photos. You can slide the HDD tray closer towards the PSU and remove the basement cover to fit the bottom fan. Makes it tight but it should fit. My meshify C will be arriving in a couple of days.

Okay I wouldn't be complaining if it was i5 with a 1060, 1070, but the 1080 is still a damned powerful gpu and AMD does perform about the same as i5 with the 1080 ti, this is less powerful making the CPU less bottlenecked, so why not have the benefit of 6 cores? Even if AMD didn't exist this would still be an odd build being more and more games are benefiting from extra cores, a 6800k would be a better option. If you can save up for this build, you should be able to save up even more for either 7700k or 6800k, or go R5 if you want to save money (on motherboard) and have 6 cores. Not really fanboying, because intel still makes good products, but this build is kindof odd
@JockeyStrappers7 жыл бұрын
L S keep in mind it takes amd twice the cores to try and match any intel equivalent and intel dominates the ipc for single core computing. The only good thing amd did was make the market more competitive for us. The i5 7600k actually bottlenecks to the 1080 so idk why they went with that. A 1060 3gb would have been the best pair as it is the minimum you can go to eliminate bottlenecks. Ive done my homework on this because i am doing a similar build soon. I chose 3gb over 6 because they seem to literally perform the exact same in gaming to include sandboxes. Leaving me to wonder wether or not the extra 3 is a gimmick. All this based around 1080p of course.
@NorthernSkiAndCycle7 жыл бұрын
AMD needs twice the cores to try and match intel? The 4 core 8 thread processors from AMD are better than the equivalently priced (actually they cost less) intel processors which are 4 core/4 thread (1400 v 7400, 1500x v 7500). Then AMD offers a 6 core/12 thread processor for less than intels 4 core/4 thread 7600k which might not be AS great at gaming, it's better at absolutely everything else, FOR LESS MONEY. AMD releasing the Ryzen 3 series made the 7400 and 7500 completely obsolete. Hell, you can buy a Ryzen 1200 or 1300x AND a B350 motherboard for less than an i5 7600k on it's own. The 1060 3gb is okay for now, but it will be an issue in a years time since most AAA games already use more than 2-3gb memory. That's why nobody recommends it. I'd suggest doing much more research.

Got the Quad Lumi just as a giggle and man that thing keeps my system cool as well as the old Hyper 212, granted I only have very minor OC's on the cpu just to round it up. If you like RGB that Quad Lumi does a really good ambient effect and adds very good bling to the MoBo area but doesn't over kill it. If not the regular H7 is basically the same thing with no RGB and is a solid Air cooling choice for those not blowing up their cpu's with High OC's.

can you fit a Kraken x62 radiator in the top exhaust position in this case (with an ATX mobo such as Aorus Gaming 5, or Crosshair VI Hero)?
@GolfRambo7 жыл бұрын
I just transferred my old i5-4690k and 970 into this case with a H100i. My Rad with just 2 Noctua fans will not fit on the top because it interferes with my RAM. Had to mount the Rad and fans on the front. It all depends on the thickness of the radiator and design of your motherboard. With the Aorus Gaming 5, you will run into clearance issues with RAM since the board is pretty short up top. Looks exactly like my GA-z97x-bk Crosshair you might run into issues mounting the rad and fan combo with the IO shroud they have on it, but seems like it will clear the ram slots, since the board has a bit more space up top. My rad is 275mm long compared to the x62 at 315mm, so it depends on how far forward you can slide it.

So now im asking myself since im not a pro... do you need those two extra fans? Arent the two fans that are already installed enough?
@nineball0396 жыл бұрын
One intake and one exhaust fan is probably enough. I prefer a positive pressure design - pushing air instead of pulling it - which in this instance, a second intake fan would provide. If you are running negative pressure - pulling air out of the case instead of pushing it you will see the results of dust buildup on the seams of the case. There are terabytes of discussions/arguments on the internet about negative vs positive pressure designs!
@vincent56136 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I just dont want my Hardware to die from overheating so Im gonna be fine with whatever just works. It doesnt have to be the perfect design.
@nineball0396 жыл бұрын
lol - a typical case fan costs $6-$8, comes with mounting screws, connector cable and will plug right into your motherboard! Good luck.
@vincent56136 жыл бұрын
Alright so ill just get some extra ones and install them on the front.
@nineball0396 жыл бұрын
Just a quick note (without meaning to sound insulting): on the side of the fan will be a small arrow indicating the airflow direction. For a front intake fan, you want the air blowing inwards. You can check the airflow direction with a piece of paper once the fan is powered up.

why use DIMM slots 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3?
@jackfolloway33545 жыл бұрын
Most motherboard manuals include a small chart indicating the optimal slots (by priority) to install for a dual channel memory configuration. In the case of the ASRock Z270 Taichi, it recommends using the 2nd and 4th slots (labeled DDR4_A2 and DDR4_B2 on the motherboard). It's a good idea to check the manual for your specific motherboard to be verify what it recommends to get the best performance from your memory when only installing 2 DIMMs.
