How you managed to survive getting pegged by a flagship's flak for a solid minute at the gas mine is testament to exceptional work on your teammates' part and destroyer's armor. Managing to turn guns and nail the belligerent flagship down from full health while you were struggling to keep healed was unprecedented, though.

purplehayabusa The Flagship with Flak kept alternating his damage along the top, bottom, left, and rear hit locations. That meant no one armor facing took enough damage to break. While I likely wouldn't have survived three enemy ships beating on me, the healing kept enough health (and armor) from breaking. Even in a stationary battle with both ships starting in range, I have no issues downing a Flagship simply because of the resilience of the Destoyer's armor.

As a main of this ship. It is very powerful but this has a very high skill floor. Loads of practice is advised. Crews and implants are also important

Is it just me, or do the ships in Fractured Space look a lot more realistic than ships in other space games?

Random Person I don't think realistic is the right word, they do have far greater detail, and aren't designs we are used to seeing; but I find it hard to believe that future spaceships will look like someone just slapped guns on a Saturn V rocket

Chris Kirby Yeah. I've been running the more mobile and hyper-aggressive ships like Enforcer and Assassin, as that's the current meta for the high-skill scene. But man, I love the Destroyer so much lol. A sorely needed change of pace.

I guess I'm not to hardcore into gaming as I used too be. But meta as in that's the thing to be right? How new is this game btw I just heard of it yesterday and so far I love the direction. I haven't even touched the smaller ships I love the idea of commanding a slow giant that has slow heavy guns.

Chris Kirby It went into Early Access back in November (21st I think), and I got it at Christmas. Meta is more the current environment, what ships people are using and their counters, how the game will progress with those ships, etc..

Chris Kirby Its likely to see very little change in the upcoming weeks. Its brand-new, and most ships don't get loadout options for a month at least. Its also doing well in the metrics, so the Devs aren't likely to tweak it.

IMO the Destroyer is pretty bad. It's honestly only good against ships as large as itself. The turret tracking is too slow and the bullet speed is too slow. You can't reliably hit anything smaller than a Hunter if they're piloted by someone with half a brain. The optimum range is 15k but at that distance everything except a Flagship can dodge with ease. And if they get any closer you can't track fast enough to keep them in your sights and you're dead.

Random Person Wow, thank you for that comment. No shit you try to lead your targets. Thank you. I never realized that. You must be some kind of genius or something. Keep in mind this was the destroyer when it first came out (and when the only other large ship was the Flagship). They've tweaked it so the problems weren't as severe as before. Also, there's more ships now which fall prey to the Destroyer easier. Back when I made that comment, most ships were still pretty small and could easily avoid enough of a Destroyers shots if they were piloted by anyone remotely intelligent to close and annihilate the ship by moving to quick for the turrets to track. Back when I made that comment, the Destroyer was pretty bad (unless you were playing against people who flew in straight lines and never deviated course). Nowadays, it's a solid choice, especially if you're playing against a bunch of Large and heavy-medium type ships. The biggest improvement is that they've dramatically increased the firing arcs.

Tatchko Actually, they did not change the firing arcs. They did nerf strafe speed, which made everyone less agile, buffed the armor of heavies to scale as they level and remain threats in the late game, and it got the same Bomber changes as Carrier.

Legiro i eat destroyer for breakfast in my fregate so i know it's weakness very wel. now 2 questions 1 does the flagship turn faster than the destroyer so i can get my armor facing the right way? 2 does it have more range? let me guess bot ansers are no you probably love your flagship but it's not a ship for me in general the bigger ships are not as good as the smaller ships right now because they dont have a role other ship cant do better and there large amout of hitpoints is not enout to balance out there slow speed

1) Versus heavy ships - yes. Versus fast Hunters - no. While it is hard to stay on your tail completely, they can relatively easy stay on top of you or mostly behind. 2) Much more. 25 km max, but the real effective range is 15- km. The sweet spot IMO is 10-15 km. That is quite limited by relatively slow projectile speed, snipers have much more stable hit rate. Also, your accuracy takes a hit if you're moving. Well, on the plus side you can shoot 5 out 6 guns almost frontaly. But my personal opinion - destroyer is one of the weakest ships in current game meta. Hell, I had major problems dueling a stock Disruptor, simply because I couldn't bring on it more than 1-3 guns at once. P.S. I actually much perfer Destroyer, specifically because it has big disadvantages and require more skill to use. P.P.S. I actually think that Flagship is the best enemy for Destroyer to face, if you have to face off against anything.
