Just putting this out there for future Gladiator captains, don't just sit still if, say, a Brawler parks on top of you. I can't count the number of times I literally sat on a Glad's head and basically teabagged it to death while it tried to pick away at other ships or poke me with a couple guns. In a slugging match, the Gladiator wins, but only if you can bring your guns to bare.

minh khang tran A lot of people tunnel vision. We're all guilty of it at some point. Unfortunately that situation is a really bad time for it to happen. Nothing more dangerous than a Brawler at point blank range that goes ignored.

sit on it or under it, under protects you from its missiles, but yea, don't sit still, especially if there is a cloaker on the enemy team, like the widow or infiltrator. Ghost is meh because it relies on the missiles and ambush, and idk about basilisk because I don't have it yet.

also dont forget the disruptor can throw the gladiator into an objective or out of if taking away are giving placement

Donno about the counters tbh, but I realy love to eat the gladiator wive a brawler alive, thanks to its massive blindspots. 1 harpoon followed up by the concuss and sneaking under it, or above is easy as hell

I can easily solokill gladiator and paragon on my superlifter(healer ship, lol).... All need to do its just go over or bottom of the ship. Those ships must be buffed.

Now i just want the gladiator cuz in the matches i played no one seems to be knowing what they are doing like 10 sec from gamma activation i jump there immidiatly and then everyone else is just sitting there till the gamma activates and then a few how to use chat?

Why would someone design a ship to have it's weakest armor on the same arc where most of it's guns fire? That part of the ship should be facing the enemy most of the time. Why would it not have good armor on those sides?

This all assumes suspension of disbelief is in play: Because armor is restrictive. If you have heavy armor in place it limits the ability of the guns to swivel and makes them even more restrictive in their arc of fire. Things will be trying to get out of the line of fire with as much firepower as its cannons have, they won't be diving in to take potshots at it, so there's no real need for those sections to be armored. However, on parts of the ship where the main guns can't reach, opponents should be trying to focus fire there which means they need heavier armor there as there's no other defense - and nothing for the armor to get in the way of.

Guns are weak points in themselves - you have to be able to get ammo to them and power them, perhaps. Plenty of potential explanations, but I think that's the most likely
