It is still around, youtube usually doesn't like links so search for "How to Play Single-player?" and the second to last response in the steam discussion gives the proper links and despite the title of the post it isn't just singleplayer.

After playing with it for a bit I feel that the Aegis isnt fit for the kind of combat Fractured space is all about and for the most part that is close quarters combat to mid range fighting with small to mainly mid sized capital ships. The Aegis being noted for not having alot of armor for a heavy and having huge energy requirements pretty much doesn't make very useful. It requires you to get dirty in the heat of battle in order to either put the shield transfer on one of your dying friends or to end up in the heat of a close quarters to mid range battle in order to charge your particle accelerator cannon that isnt useful at close range so you're stuck. You can sometimes get lucky and blink out of it but for the most part once you are committed you are done even if you have team members around to try and mitigate the damage. Maybe I just need a little more time with it to bring out the best in the ship. But what I just described is what my interaction so far has been.

It might be fun to play Zarya of Fractured space... probably most interesting heavy so far :)

The Jalapeno Show don't care. Until gameplay styles are created there will be a mass of these ships. I don't want to see the map covered in undodgable 5k meter range balls of death lol
