I remember stumbling across this song like 8 years ago. I didn't make playlists back then and eventually lost it. Just a few days ago I FINALLY rediscovered it and did not make the same mistake twice. As long as this is on YT, I'll have it in my techno playlist. Such a wonderful track.

I think this has to be the best channel on KZbin. Pretty much every song posted is amazing but it's also the only place where I actually bother to read comments, mrsuicidesheep has done the impossible and made a spot on KZbin largely free of trolls where people actually say friendly and helpful things to each other and talk about the music. It's unbelievable really.

Everything was so much nicer in these times, no tiktok. So many people have been lost from different peoples lives since then, friends family members, well known individuals. many of the last remaining people who were real, not characters are gone. The same people who’ve changed for the worse we’re still themselves. So much has changed, sometimes I wish there could be a place to go and just re live, and make up for mistakes, see people how they used to be before the chaos, see those who are no longer here. The end of reality really seemed be around 08 ish to the summer of 2012. After 12’ everything feels like it became different.

I spend a lot of time lately contemplating this shift also, wondering when what - in 2008 - felt like warmth and good intentions and positive progress, somehow devolved into this callous, hostile, fracture...void we have today. I'm an astrologer and there are definitely plenty of major planetary transits occuring in the time frame you gave that shifted things certain directions! For example, the oldest Millennials went through a 3-year process called the Saturn Return between 2008-2012. The oldest Millennials were those who were teenagers when the internet arrived inside the home, making an enormous longterm impact, I'm now seeing (I couldn't see the whole picture as dramatically as it occurred as I can now, because there was a distinct lack of alarmism and prevalence of casual acceptance among us older Millennials as that event actually unfolded. But now there's an urgency to the outcome I can see that I didn't see then.) Specific to the oldest chunk of the Millennial generation (roughly 34-40 years old now,) we have very predominant Sagittarius placements of the big outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) that act as generational energy sources. As we finished high school and began branching out into the various options of follow-up lifestyles, I recall very discriminately a vibe of rebellion, heroism, social justice, fairness, and notably a positive sense of intention to the technological progress that was rapidly unfolding (though to us, it didn't feel rapid or urgent or that special most days, because our acclimation to it occurred gradually over many years.) We were SO social during their time - and spending the majority of our time online being social playing mmorpgs and on social media and learning remedial coding to create custom wallpapers for ours and others' Myspace pages. There was an air of warmth, goodness, wildness, wisdom even, and a sense of prioritizing freedom among us during those years. Those are very Sagittarius characteristics, and I dare say my chunk of the Millennial generation felt perfectly comfortable with this tech-based and rapidly-expanding world we felt we commanded. Sometime around 2012, as you said, the vibes felt different. Us oldest chunk of the first and only tech-saavy/"hybrid" generation had gone from autonomous adults to parents, mostly. The economic collapse of 07-08 had taught us some things about the safety of wealth and the illusion of security, as most of us were not devastated the way the older generations were (because we did not yet own and operate the material aspects of our lives quite as autonomously as our parents and their parents had.) Our adult lives began almost exactly as 9/11 happened. That shift was instant. Abstract to totally-physical layers of fear were pushed into every corner of the social and political narratives, before the day was even over. Economic extremes were pendulous in the immediate aftermath. Divisiveness, which eventually led to a very distinct **anger** filled the silences between people. If you weren't angry at the "terrorists," you were angry at George Bush Jr (this was an interestingly strong rage toward him), or you were angry at the Taliban, or the US for having armed the Taliban decades prior, or any number of household political names and ethnicities, and if not any of them, you were angry at your ignorant uncle for not seeing what you so clearly could about all of it. ANGER BECAME A REQUIREMENT. If you did not express outrage in some form or another somehow, you were accused of being unpatriotic, self-absorbed, immature, stupid, liberal, uneducated, and mostly apathetic. Looking back now, I can clearly see the energy coloring the 2011-on period as being distinctly one of anger, hostility, conflict, superiority, and intolerance for differences. The incel/MRA idea was born, intellectual and scientifically-pompous atheist groups exploded all over social media, absolutely demolishing anyone in their path who could not provide a locktight defense and explanation for any difference in viewpoint. The normalcy of social media caught up to it around 2014, in my estimate, and we started to see these fringe groups and societies all buzzing around in the powder keg that was social media. At this point, 2015, (I had just graduated college, was a mom to 4 young kids, had been politically-riled-up since we were old enough to comprehend it), a different emotion settled over the norm we had been enthusiastically plowing toward since we'd become adults. Hadn't we...gotten there? To where we had wanted? We looked around and the screens reflecting screens around us agreed that we had made it to some unspoken landmark in our hero's journey. And so we stopped fighting for the good. We were bored of fighting, burnt out of adrenaline from the constant constant constant debates/fights/vicious dramatic threads of anger and rage and hostility, and we had started to see some edges of our new digital world that looked a whole lot like crazy. There is no amount of adrenaline and endurance on earth that can overcome crazy in these forms. We scoffed, backspaced, and sort of... gave up. We were here, we shrugged. This was our world we'd made for ourselves and this was enough. When our passions no longer had direction and our anger looked like everyone else's, we started putting something like distance between ourselves and those warriors we'd felt like back when we were still passionate. It became a lot harder to care about those things as the ideas we had believed in began to unravel slowly around us, until our arsenal of "pure" intention had become just dusty void we didn't really need anymore.

Might come off as a bit pessimistic here, but the peoples of the world aren't ready for anything like what you're getting at here... In a movie, perhaps it could be conveyed in an understandable way to the general mass of individuals but as a concept the idea of a united, borderless world is far off. So far, in fact, that a lot of people will get scared and even angry at the very idea itself. That is how we humans are 'programmed', to greet anything we deem unfamiliar and out of the ordinary as dangerous and potientially harmful. At times I've found myself wondering why it's like this, but it's hard to philosophize about it without bordering into conspiracies. The core of what I think is the main problem is currency. We need to find a way to deal and trade with eachother and work together without monetary systems where the endgame always will be individual profit. A shift of focus from personal gain towards giving everyone what they need and ensuring that we're all taken care of is the first step towards such a world. A place where you are rewarded for contributing towards society rather than the current 'Wild West'-type world where the rich and succesful prey on the poor and less fortunate. As long as this system exists people will exploit it for their own personal gain, disregarding the damage and misfortune they bring upon others. As long as there is money to be made dropping bombs on someones head they will keep falling. Replace artificial riches with love for ones next-of-kin, and expand our minds to embrace all human beings into this category and we're nearly there. It's a simple solution in theory but will take years and years to reach in the real, practical world. I remain hopeful that we're able to achieve such a state of being as a species. Maybe not in your or my lifetime, but perhaps future generations will get it right eventually. :-)

I listened to this when I was 22 and it gave me nostalgic memories of when I was 10 year old kid. I just listened to it at 33 and it gave me nostalgic memories of when I was a 22 year old kid. I wonder if I'll listen to it at 44 and have nostalgic memories of a 33 year old 'kid'.

I don't know why, i've heard this song ten thousand times on my phone, but i was just browsing sheepy and this came up. I clicked on it, heard the intro, saw the pic, and started tearing up. For no reason. I am a 15 year old guy. What the hell. This says something about the deep emotional level that Sheepy's music brings us

Yeah it really is a great song. I understand hoe it may be conflicting. Sometimes i hear it and it makes me happy other times it can be very sad. I think it depends on your mood at the time. Beautiful song none the less. Makes me think of my ex girlfriend. Id do anything to go back in time and do things differently.... anything.

You don't have to go back in time to fix what you did in the past Man. You cant regret your life like that, Its what you do now that really counts. If you two were meant to be you'll see her down the road one day, and if not you just have to take that loss and accept that it just wasn't meant to be. Just enjoy what you have in life right now, Everything happens for a reason. Good luck to you sir

I hear a lot of stories of people’s grandmothers referring them to the better world of music like this. Crazy world where the elderly are further into the world of music (especially the experimental edm section) than the youth is. Go old people, they have better taste in music it seems.

Alan Zimmerman the fuck is everyone so confused about? i know i have a quirky writing style but its not that hard to follow. is it? i checked what i read in a panic, thinking from how you described it as being completely incoherent and fragmented. But for once i can see i stayed on topic and got the point across (however wordy it happened to have been). so no, sir, i believe it is not me but you, the one with an abstract understanding.
