Addictions like fragrance hoarding can be very exciting until you realize you only have a limited amount of time in this life and you are better off thoroughly enjoying the ones that you love most instead of constantly finding the next better fragrance. On the other hand, it provides some sort of satisfaction knowing that you tried everything on the market and only kept the best ones. But then again, time is of the essence here so i will always side with the former. For this reason, I keep a small collection of 5-6 and purchase a new one only after finishing a bottle. In contrast, enthusiasts like yourself have also helped us discover hidden gems and for that I am grateful! 😀

@@amunra_ Yes and no..a lot of fragrance folks completely over do it. You see the racks of bottles behind them in the videos. At that point its just an obsession and a waste of money. If you want to enjoy fragrances in abundance just buy tiny bottles not these large 3 0z ones that never get finished.

Indeed there is something satisfying about minimalizing your collection... I only had a small collection of around 30 but still decided to get rid of the ones I didn't really wear (essentially don't need)... I'm left with 7 fragrances now and it feels good cause I know that the ones I have are actually going to be of value to me personally... from now on im only buying decants and maybe the number will grow back to around 10-12 but not much more

I don't have so many in my collection right now as it was distilled after tryingany perfumes I have 3 fragrances from nasomatto ( black afgano, baraonda and the amazing pardon ) From xerjoff i really enjoyed most of them yet three fragrances do really stand out ( naxos, 40 knonts and alexandria 2 ) Orto parisi megamare and terroni Boadecia the victorious complex. I recently came to the conclusion that it is a good idea to have fragrances for different weather. so many of the "best" fragrances fall under the below room temperature (20C) category but where I live, 75% of the time the temp is above 20C so its better to have "less good" fragrances that are better suited for warmer weather. Best room temp fragrances (20C) I found are terre d'hermes (EDT of Parfum) and bleu de chanel (EDP or Parfum). For slightly warmer temps (20-25) i have Club de nuit intense man parfum, prada l'homme and aqua di gio profumo. For high 20s low 30s I have allure home sport, allure home sport edition blanche, versace pour homme, and light blue forever. and for the hottest days (33C+) I have malibu (very similar to virgin island water but stronger).

Plus the cost of materials and currencies exchange rates means a higher quality product at lower prices outside Thailand.

I have so many favourites, it's tough to know where to begin. My preference is for fragrances to be warm. Freshies have their place, but fragrance is about intimacy. It connects people through their most primordial sense. and to me intimacy says warm. So I guess it's no surprise that I'm a vanilla nut. Accordingly my list would have to begin with GUERLAIN - the maestros of vanilla. Spiritueuse Double Vanille and Angelique Noire would have to be on my list along with YSL's Babycat. Of course my all-time favourite fragrance, Xerjoff's Richwood, has to take center stage. A warm, creamy sandalwood-rose-patchouli elixer that never fails to make me feel positively regal. And I've always had a soft spot for Nishane's HACIVAT. It's pineapple and oak moss accords are captivating and it performs like a hemi-Cuda. DIOR Homme Parfum will always have a place on my shelf, and the honey-oud-black tea cloud of Xerjoff's CEYLON never fails to take me on a journey. I would have to include one summer scent and the nod would have to go to Creed's Virgin Island Water, although for the price, the performance is woeful. I think that's eight, so throw in Roja Dove's ENIGMA parfum and Amouage's Jubilation XXV, and I'd be a happy guy.
