Fragmentary Clues Leads To Killer | The New Detectives | Real Responders

Real Responders

2 жыл бұрын

In suburban New York, a young mother is brutally murdered in her kitchen. Police race to identify her killer but fragmentary clues left at the scene are all that remain. In Idaho, an elderly couple is found shot to death in their home, I-witness accounts vary and police look for clues and then look to forensic science to identify a suspect.

@Rhito Mero Not true. The easiest way to get away with murder is to either kill a prostitute because the police won’t use too many resources to finding the killer or inject an overdose of heroin into a homeless person. The police will automatically assume they done it to themselves.

Lanny must have given her one hell of a rub up, for her to ask him to not come back! It doesn't say much for the relationship between the Buchanan brothers. Lenny/Lanny was prepared to see his brother Robert take the blame for the crime, whilst Robert, during his confinement on murder charges, seems to have failed to make the connection between his brother's access to the .22 rifle and that he wore similar shoes, but a size smaller. It's also odd that the police, during their preliminary investigations, didn't consider both brothers as suspects given the circumstances, eg. access to murder weapon, did they buy shoes together on a shopping trip, were there times when both brothers worked with each other in cutting grass etc. The Judge was correct to throw out the case against Robert but he may well have deliberated longer over the other brother had decent evidence been presented at the same time.

“The two were devout church goers.” I hear this all the time in true crime, yet it’s completely irrelevant. Many killers, including serial killers (Dennis Rader to name one,) were “devout church goers.” It shouldn’t be used as shorthand to imply that anyone is a good, honest & kind person.

@@_Meng_Lan *Sigh* No. They did not "attack a whole group of innocent people". They pointed out that saying that someone is a devout churchgoer doesn't have anything to do with being a good person. Good and bad people go to church. I'm Roman Catholic and I also hate it when they use the "Devout churchgoer/Good Christian/actively involved with the church" descriptor. Christian doesn't automatically equal good and it annoys me when my religion is used as a shorthand implication. What if Lenny's brother had worn his brother's shoes to the crime scene? Knowing that his brother was mentally impaired and that he would likely unknowingly take the fall? Matching shoes alone is surely not enough evidence to go on? This is a double crime that has likely not been fully solved... The fact that these shoe prints were clearly found in 2 different places in two different media (mud and blood) clearly points to the fact that they were intended to be found. huh? I think the cops jumped to conclusions that both they and the real killer wanted ... Get closure and walk away.... Problem solved ...

No wonder, America stood always as the greatest. Up until now my poor country Phil cant live like these era of late 1950s to early 1980s of america up until now it can not compare their greatness. The economy is quiet rising in my country, rising buildings but employers salary cant buy a decent house in cash, just new trains from metro to near province like many years and same politicians sat but still no trains built for far provinces. How pity Philippines.

I support the police, but it's like every other job, some pass with 51% and others with 99 %. This applies to all people you interact with.
