Fragments of Civil War history!!

Still searching this site I’ve been looking for the last couple weeks on this trip I decided to try the XP Deus II in general mode and a special program that I came up with to hunt in the Square nails, and iron on the fast mode of the Deus still learning a lot from this machine on every trip I think I get surprised every time I dig a signal especially on this one!! Here is the program I’m using : program off of fast mode discrim 6.2 sensitivity 90 Iron volume 7 reactivity 2.5 Audio response 6 Threshold 0 #metaldetecting #detecting #xpdeus #treasure #collecting #history

It’s a great hobby to get into sometimes hard to get permissions, but there’s plenty of public land to hunt and I’m sure some of your friends will let you look their places!!

Good hunt young man. Those buttons are deteriorating every year they stay in the ground, especially the tin backs. Different soils are hard on em also. Sandy soil they come out of the ground pretty nice. Nice Parrot shell frags. Union cannonball frags are usually diamond shaped and Rebel shell frags are hexagonal. Those round balls could be lead cannister shot. Your doing a great job digging and saving history. Thanks for sharing, see ya next time.

​@ReachingHistory Look into getting one of them Root Slayer shovels. Course it won't help with them rocks but they do pretty good on roots. There's an ol boy in Ringgold 'Don Dotson'. He carries metal detectors, shovels and accessories. Good man to deal with.

Just curious as to the area you're hunting ? I don't want your spots but I spent 30 years hunting Virginia I lived in Fredericksburg but would drive to different counties and spend months there until my research led me to another area.
