Meh... I gotta disagree with some, seem too random to me. But especially with 9). Why not Feve Délicieuse instead of Mitzah? Mitzah is very difficult to appreciate (and I dislike it tbh) while Feve Délicieuse smells like a masterpiece to almost anyone. And too many Amouage. I think Jubilation is enough. But Herod is a great addition. I'd also add Kilian Back to Black. One of the best almost-gourmands in existence.

Good to see the "Rachel Welch" of fragrances in this list! It definitely has a couple of "prominent notes" that hold your attention. Great Niche selections there! At least I can get my hands on Tuscan Leather....
@xenosaren63247 жыл бұрын
My top ten niche reasonably priced are - 1. Tabac Rouge from the house of Phadeon (like Tobaco Vanille TF, just much better), 2. Gorse by Laboratory Perfumes (like Creed VIW . Thanks to Mr. Smelly I found this gem), 3. pretty much everything from house of Mancera (superb quality juices), 4. Perfume Calligraphy Saffron which is made partly by house of Aramis, but this line is kinda like private blend from Tom Ford - reasonably priced gorgeous juice, very oriental, quite heavy and performs like a beast. 5. Chergui from Serge Lutens - entry juice from the house, good prices and maaan, this quality... 6. Diptyque - Philosykos, my fav fig fragrance...7. L`Air du Desert Marocain from Andy Tauer - no explanation, it's my signature scent, Moroccan spices, very dry woods, best in autumn. 8. Tom Ford private blend - Cafe Rose, very sweet coffee mixed with roses, I simply love it. 9. Sensei by Piotr Czarnecki, unfortunately, I have only 10ml decant of this juice, it's all about coffee, whisky and tobacco...very difficult to find novadays. And last, but not least, Parfums de Marly - Herod. I have it only since last Thursday, so it is still growing up on me...there is vanilla, cinnamon and some tobacco, but in very different way than Tom Ford did it. Most of those juices are quite affordable, and definitely worth trying :) I'm glad you showed some love to house of Mancera, really. Very good quality, and prices are cheap, compared to big names.

A nice solid list. A few of my favorite niche at the moment: Tom Ford - Italian Cypress (seriously loving this one. thinking about hunting down a flacon), Creed - Silver Mountain Water, Creed - Erolfa (best ambergris fragrance I've come across) and Acqua di Parma - Fico di Amalfi

This is a Great Presentation of Fragrances that Every Beginner should Try. There are many names I recognize and a few I don't. This is by far one of the better videos I've seen, as I've been finding it kinda difficult weeding out the reviews of people HYPING fragrances & then linking viewers to discounters with Discount Codes using their names, and have Giveaways for Free Bottles. I like this video because you're giving an Honest Personal Opinion of Fragrances You Believe Are Worth Investing My Hard Earned Money Into. I'm on a somewhat tight budget, but I'm not opposed to spending more money for an Exceptionally High Quality Fragrance, a Fragrance that is Expensive, NOT because of the Name On The Bottle, but because of the High Quality & Expensive Ingredients that go INTO the Bottle. I can see your a man of High Integrity & it's refreshing finding a Reviewer who isn't HYPING Celebrity & Designer Fragrances that Everybody's Wearing. I'm 55, and I like finding hard-to-find Fragrances that have Distinguishing Qualities that set them apart from the Heap of Cheap Fragrances that are Cloned Every Year To the Masses. I'm not specifically looking for Classic Fragrances, but moreover, Fragrances with High-Quality Ingredients that have Earned The Respect of The Fragrance Community. I'm not a Follow-The-Crowd kinda guy, I like finding Fragrances that are Unique, Long Lasting, Warm & Inviting, and Memorable. I guess that would pretty much sum up NICHE. I believe the Fragrances you've Presented Here have All Those Qualities. Thanks for doing an Honest & No-Nonsense Review. CHEERS!!!!

Mr Smelly, do you have Aoud Cafe from Mancera? Would love to get your thoughts on how it compares with Montale's Intense Cafe. Sadly I haven't been able to find a place in New Zealand where I can sample Montale frags. I blind bought a bottle of Mancera's Aoud Cafe and love that. I also have Montale's Chocolate Greedy which I'm not a huge fan of. Mostly because I can't think of any situation where I would wear it. To me it just smells like a chocolate wafer.

If you like coffee notes, try Mancera Aoud Cafe - it's my favourite from the line - smells like freshly brewed espresso, from freshly roasted beans. They're comparable to Montale if it comes to longevity and projection (beast mode) :) AdP is great house, unfortunately I can't find fragrance from it which lasts good time on my skin...

Yes agree Aventus is a must try . More so than Cedrat Boise . Just made it a passing mention as most people know it. Fair point.

Kabir--totally agree man. I love how everyone gets their panties in a bind when Aventus doesn't make their personal top 10. Aventus is great juice no doubt, but there are others that are indeed better IMHO. Aventus is so overplayed and we still love it:) Mancera CB was a fantastic choice by Mr. Smelly. Not to mention CB has a way better price tag for beginners. Aventus can definitely wait at $300-400 a pop. Peace!
