Fragrances From the Niche House of Etat Libre d'Orange: My Impressions of 20 Perfumes

That discovery set is the largest I've ever seen! It would be like Christmas receiving that! ELDO has always had fragrances that I like, sometimes a lot, but nothing yet that is a LOVE. I have Remarkable People, which is lovely in the spring...very sparkly. I also really like Fat Electrician (the vanilla note is beautiful in the dry down...but I'm still trying to find that one discounted) and You or Someone Like You (to me it's like smelling a real-life herb garden, with mint and basil prominent). My favorite ELDO name is Delicious Closet Queen. 😀 Great video!

So much to say about this house. I love ELDO. Congratulations on taking on the smelling of 20 of their fragrances at one time!! Wow! I have so many from this house. Fat Electrician was my first. It's amazing how things smell differently - From my Marquis De Sade, I get pickled olives?!?!? What??

I agree - they're so fun!!! I may have to pick up Marquis De Sade because that was right up my alley - it only had labdanum listed as a note (I remember there was another one I tried that had an olive leaf note - maybe Fin Du Monde?). I think my fave is still Vraie Blonde though...

I blind bought Jasmin et Cigarette and was a little disappointed, so what do I do? Go and blind buy Divin 'Enfant. Should be here next week. Great video thank you! Now I want to try La Fin Du Monde and of course Sécrétions Magnifiques just to try it : )

Oh man, I think I have found my exact negative (as in film negatives). You called rien pretty and divin enfant dark and brooding. I think rien is the most hideous perfume ever created (I had to purchase 2 samples to make sure I didn’t get a bad vial) and I own divin and think of it as my happy reach-it’s so fluffy and bright to my nose.....your channel is great btw!

Isn’t that weird. My experience is that I first hated Rien but then I was compelled to keep smelling it to try and figure it out. I then just fell in love with it. So much so that I had to buy a bottle . I also bought Rien Intense incense. It’s more incensey. The one I hate and find revolting is that horrid Secretions Magnifique. Ughh I don’t know what compelled me to buy a 10ml of it. One spray and I was gagging. I’ll have to give it away as a gag gift to someone. I can’t see anyone actually wanting to smell like secretions.. Lol

I like Cologne, it’s a beautiful basic citrus. And Like This is very nice. But I love Rien and Rien Encense Intense and Marquis De Saad most of all. I do like most of them. The only problem I have with this house is that their perfumes are too weak, they don’t last longer than half hour to an hour, except for both Riens. The only one I hate and find disgusting is that gross one secretions magnifique. And i have a 10ml that I sprayed once and it was so revolting that I don’t dare spray it again. Wish I could give it away. I also have the two Luca books. Yes I too love reading his fragrance critique books. I have quite a few of the perfumes he gave high marks to. And I find myself agreeing with him more often than not. But hey, fragrance is highly subjective, wear what u love and what makes u feel beautiful. That’s my motto.

Oh, interesting about the longevity - the one I wear most frequently is Vraie Blonde and the longevity is decent. LOL, I have no desire to smell Secretions Magnifique - it sounds dreadful!!!🤣The Luca Turin books are the best!! I definitely have had some misses but of course it's all so subjective that that's to be expected. Thank you!!!♥️♥️♥️

I got this set from my sig other for the holidays. It was definitely fun going through them, but for some reason, I got two dupes. My favorites from this house are Exit the King and Like This. I do not like anything well enough to get a full bottle at full price, but I would buy a discounted bottle of either of those, Especially Exit the King. I think it is very pretty, a woman's barbershop frag! The sample kit is not complete, so you don't get everything listed in the booklet.

I've been lucky with my blind buying of ELDO so far but this set has definitely helped me avoid a couple I would've just pulled the trigger on and maybe regretted a bit

I *loathe* Putain des Palaces, it smells like mouldy talcum powder to my nose. 😅 I really need to remember to check for a bottle of Vraie Blonde, I do love that one, too. Most of ELdO's more commercially successful scent are a bit blah, imo. No Secretions Magnifiques in the sample box but I'd be happy to send you a decant. 🤣🤣
