Dude...vanity is a form of self-hatred because it is excessive by definition and highlights concern and scrutiny. You are confusing vanity with pride or self-love. But it is done because of a dislike or lack of pride of the natural skin tone. Some skin lighteners are just in straight denial.

Because he,maybe or possibly, doesn't want to look like them. Black ppl are very tribal and if one gets out of line they tend to react aggressively. I am black myself, honey brown complexion, but with really bad hyperpigmentation (with many many scars) and would love to lighten my skin for an even tone all over my body. What makes me mad is the visceral pure hate you get if you decide to lighten. The ppl in the comments didn't even listen to his story here they just instinctually went for his head like he molested a child or something. PPl in the comments are actually saying that they hope he gets skin cancer just because he wants lighter skin. Imagine if a white person said that to another white person who likes to tan. Crazy. Anywho, it doesn't matter if he hates himself or not its his own journey to go on and he needs a strong community and society (which we don't have) for upliftment not the verbal equivalent to beating the hell out of your kid if they make a mistake. P.S>Sorry for the long rant but this is close to my heart.

I can guarantee you that he was teased or something as a child because of his skin or ignored because of it and that manifested itself into what we see today. Just because something is all-natural doesn't mean it can't cause cancer. I am just saying you have to research the ingredients themselves because Mother Nature can make a lot of toxic stuff too if not used in the way it was intended. (I used to formulate products). I am not judging the skin lightening one way or the other but removing pigment from the skin whether it is done slowly or dramatically is not a naturally occurring process for the body (just like perms which break down bonds in hair aren't natural processes either). Over time there could be side effects or risks associated. Each person can decide how much of a risk they are willing to take for themselves.

honestly hating on people for lightening their skin is just dumb cause its practically the same thing as getting rid of acne and facial scars and if it makes it look good then do you.

This was a very fair interview. It’s hard not to feel offended as a dark skinned person, but it’s his skin and he never said dark skin was a flaw. Plus can we really blame him for thinking lighter skin = better looking? Our society is to blame for that.

If we all followed society, the world would be over. He really didn’t have to say anything. His actions, sorry to be cliche, speak much louder.

Bleaching can be permanent and damaging, skin lightening is gentler less harmful and temporary. He has pictures where he is 10X lighter than this but he decided to let his skin tan a little. Melanin is so powerful. As long as he doesn't use bleach he will be good health wise.

But when they said this is him years ago and this is him now... he looked the same :? I mean the selfies they showed look like they show major change but him in person looked the same. Maybe lighting played a part? Like studio lighting vs selfie lighting or something hmm i dunno, i'm not exactly an expert. I only came across this video after looking for ways to lighten skin because i'm very pale but i love that every summer my face explodes in freckles haha i used to hate it but my boyfriend over the years has made me feel confident in it cause he loves it and finds it adorable. So rather than always laying under an umbrella in the sun i got a little too excited about getting my summer freckles and ended up catching tan which i hate. Ive always been pale, i went through the bullying for being pasty and peely wally in a school where every girl was bronzed and burnt and fake tanned to the nines. But, through that experience i grew to love my unique pale as snow skin, and now that ive lost a little of it, i want it back to how i always was. Bleaching seems dangerous? But i really want to lighten my skin back to its natural pale that i grew to love and embrace.

Why do you bleach your skin? Your skin your born with is beautiful. being dark skinned isn't a burden its a blessing. Yes society may encourage being light skinned but society is almost always wrong. I as a light skinned Mexican haven't experienced any thing negative about my skin tone so I can't fully understand why you would want to do this. Your natural skin is BEAUTIFUL no matter what others say. I don't have the words to express how I feel about this. Your melanin is a gift. Don't ruin that.

So I have uneven skin all over my body and I totally stay covered because of this. My feet and hands are dark as night. The remainder of my body is a caramel/brown blend with discoloration throughout, not to mention a few stretch mark's from carrying a child. My face is between caramel and brown and gets darker in the summer. My elbows, knees and inner thighs are DARK!! They call this hyperpigmentation!!! There is no way to correct it without trying his method but I definitely don't want to deal with "my people" and this skin lightening issue. So I'll just walk around looking tie dyed for the rest of my life!!

Is that young man gay? I felt that he was quite feminine but the main thing is that for anyone to do that to himself or herself is seriously lacking self esteem. No one needs to lighten his or her skin. God made us beautiful just the way we are

Your just jealous that I was on a major talk show and own my company. I know, its okay id be jealous too that someone younger and better looking than me was living a lavish while I have to clock in to a dead in job just to pay for the basics of life.. prayers sent your way.

In response to the comment that its hard to be dark skinned. Its also hard to be lightskinned as far as being just a black woman. I think a lot of men see fairer women as being more feminine and ladylike. They do kind of put them on a pedestal and stereotype us. Dark skin is very beautiful and there are lightskinned girls that do tan. Most black girls do it out of a bottle but overtime it does cause tour skin to get dull.
@victorefox6 жыл бұрын
Would anyone have me on a talk show for tanning? It is wrong to prosecute him for wanting to own his image. Its his body, his skin! People chemically change their hair, teeth, wear makeup. It isnt harming him and he feels more attractive! Cool! He is clearly a proud, black man and this is not an issue of wanting to pass as another race.

To be honest, my inclination is to be against it but seeing him on the stage - he doesn't look drastically different. The lightening looks more exaggerated in pictures than it does in video - and I would surmise in person. Brightening vs bleaching 🤔 splitting hairs to some, but I think it can be an important distinction.

This is odd, because I have seen some of his video's on youtube and he looks much lighter than he is now. I'm a redbone person but I am happy with my color, I don't know, maybe he's not happy with the color of his skin color. He says that he is against skin bleaching, but that's what Konjac Acid does to your skin, it bleaches your color, I don't think he knows what he wants.
