My fave thing about you is your carefree,chill and relaxed attitude towards complicated engineering topics and the way you break them down as if these things are just some simple arithmetics. I can watch you all day man! Imho you are the best youtouber in this category!
@falooo79 жыл бұрын
you invested good time in these videos so if you could break it down more and slower your explanation so the new learners can catch up then you will reach to higher number of view for your videos, and for your writing try and write in large font. please accept my tips cause it will make your videos perfect

sorry im having trouble understanding the vertical components. I get that they should sum to equal 80 but im confused how you got the 25 on the left and 55 on the right. I keep trying moment stuff but im not looking at this correctly. thanks

I have trouble too in calculating vertical loads..it is distributed loads, should it be 40 k and 40 k in each support?

hi im not getting the vertical reactions . because Ay = - By and if you solve for member B-C By + 2(40) + Cy=0 and sum the moments about C to get 2x40x40/2 + By(40) you get By= - 40 . i dont know what i am doing wrong
@shunturigovender511710 жыл бұрын
ok never mind i figured it out . you do not use that method you just calculate the moment about the supports

Yes, you typically sum all the forces acting on the free body diagram

Difference between roller and pin? I know roller only has one reaction, pin two, but in a real example? do they do that bc it’s an indetermined equation? I’m not an engineer major I took a few classes long ago in an architecture class, I’m just curious, anyone can help me? thanks

Hi sir, can u plz explane how did u get horizontal force of 45 and reaction in a = 25 and D=65, tanx alot.
@mohannadsawaifh10 жыл бұрын
1- look at the quastion at first you have 4 forces 10+20+10+5=45 this is the H.force for pin 2- for D=55 not 65 as you write and we find from - sum Fy=0 >> >> 2*40-25-Dy=0 *Dy=55

just wanna know why the vertical force isnt split in half on both supports, i found that slightly confusing.
@structurefree10 жыл бұрын
The lateral loads cause compression on the right vertical member and tension on the left. If only the distributed load were applied then the two vertical reactions would be equal.
@21leowheeler10 жыл бұрын
thanks alot man i kinda figured it out by doing sum of moment on the left support its amazing how clear the head becomes after a shower , in the morning its just like whaat :P thanks for the quick reply and the awesome videos.

Taking moment on one joint! Example if u take moment at A= 20k(10 f) + 10 k(10) -2(40f)(20f) +5(20) +10(10) +20Dy. Should all end up DY = 55. Take vertical distances for all except the distributed load
@misshollywood23567 жыл бұрын
wouldn't the moment about A be...-20(10')-10(20')-80(20')+5(20')+10(10')+Dy(40')=0... Dy=45 :'(... i cant figure out why i'm not correct... the distance between 10k and A is 20' not 10'..... and the distance between Dy and A is 40' not 20' because it has to be the horizontal distance...PLEASE HELP ME!!! :'(
