I too love those differing stories between friends who are playing the same game. Me and my bro were constantly sharing each others personal journeys through BOTW and I loved that we'd both share cool locations that one of us hadn't found or missed, it's one of my favourite things about videogames.

As someone who loves Arcane and the immersive sim genre, seeing the last great immersive sim studio switch to a multiplayer shooter was positively soul crushing. Happy for all you shooter fans who have yet another title to look forward to.

Yeah, I feel the same. When a studio mentions that you can play single player or multi-player it always means that the game was designed to be played multi-player (Anthem, Avenger, etc).

As Huber mentioned, you can play Redfall completely solo. Same with Deathloop.

@@BC-wt6dw Right but like Jorge mentions above, its not made to be played that way. Deathloop Im still confused about. Its marketing itself as single player game with multiplayer elements but as far as I can tell they still havent really outline how that works. Either way I cant think of any game that has hit that balance of single player and coop/multiplayer experiences but I hope your right.

Man, I really respect Arkane studios pedigree and I bet it will good, but that trailer had me wanting the conference to end early out of boredom. I was getting the most generic hero shooter "whacky" characters Deathloop/Borderlands tone/vibes. The only thing I liked was the vampires.

Good to know I wasn't the only one. I wish the game success and I'm glad Dishonored (which I love) is taking a break (which is this), that helps devs get out of their comfort zone and learn/try new things. Things/knowledge you can implement in future projects.

@@LightyGab Thats the silver lining Im looking for. Harvey and the Arkane team have been doing immersive sims since the mid 90s. I really hope to see them return to that at some point in the future. Maybe its all for the best.

One thing Huber didn't mention is that RedFall has that triple A aroma that the other squad based games (back 4 blood) don't seem to have.

also Ben says Back 4 Blood excites him more, but to me there isn't a more SAFE game this year (its basically left 4 dead with a card system to say "we did this part different"), when RedFall has already a more unique proposition : vampires, powers, open-world (not mission based like back 4 Blood), weird weapons. Sometimes its like people refuse to see differences between games really.

I'm so hyped for Redfall so Huber starting with it is AWESOME. And I'm not even an Arkane fan, never liked Dishonored that much, and Prey doesn't do anythin for me sidenote : no Ben, a coop game about shooting vampires has 0 chance of giving you a "social commentary" apart from "Rich people bad" ^^

And I wonder why youd ask for a social commentary as soon as theres a reference to « the enemies are rich people who wanna live forever ». Thats not a political stance thats a classic action movie cliché ^^
