MLID's leaks and predictions: - Zen 4 IPC - claimed to have +15-24% over Zen 3 with "high confidence" by his own standards. - Arc A780 existence - never existed. - Raptor Lake CPUs pricing ranges - got wrong all of them (not a single SKU landed in his predicted ranges), RPL turned out to be cheaper of course. - RDNA 3 performance - 2x RDNA2 garbage. He was wrong in important predictions related to pretty much all of last year's major products. Even tech companies like Intel and major tech outlets had to come out and point out that some leakers consistently mislead everyone and overhype.

AND? #3 You make a big deal on other videos about "did you actually test the hardware" well, where's your 7xx0X3D? Right, you don't have it either. Look I think we agree on the underlying point. Yes, his statement of 25 or 30% faster is dumb, if for no other reason than we know some games love that extra cache and some just don't care. So it will not be an across the board win for the X3D chips. Of course not. I'm sure we'll all be shocked if they have some wins and some loses, depending on the game. Shocked for sure. But if you're going to complain about the arrogance of other youtubers while simultaneously setting up hard rules and purity tests for your own community... well then maybe you should abide by your own rules. I'm not sure if MLID is an AMD fanboy, i think he just sees that the content that hypes AMD gets more clicks and thus he panders to that. The reason I think so is because whenever there's an AMD controversy brewing where even the fanboys get upset, he tends to pander to that hatetrain as well. MLID in general is one of those weird people in the hardware tech community who cannot stand being wrong, and as such his leaks are always vague, always give him plenty of margin of error (x product will be 10-20% faster) and furthermore, he has a history of deleting stuff he gets wrong. He also cannot stop himself from reminding people whenever he got something right or leaked something first. I don't, he just seems desperate for attention and clout. Imagine having a weatherman on the TV who changes his prediction for Sunday's weather every day along the week, and takes credit for getting it right on Wednesday's broadcast when he said it would rain on Sunday.

@@cutcorners6005 idk I’ve listened to a lot of him claiming the Radeon is going to bury Nvidia next generation talks , like it’s been 3 years of misinformation going one way. He only after the 7900xtx came out and was 2 generations behind the 4090 and basically a less efficient 4080 finally broke down and talked bad about AMD and that’s cause he knew it was over he had for 3 years been putting off everything as just wait for Navi wait for big Navi wait for RDNA 2 actually RDNA 3 is going to change the world … like if he isn’t a AMD fanboy he is amazing at playing the part. Just being objective he rarely is. I say that but he isn’t completely dumb he has a 4090 he got for a advert read and he had a 3070 before that haha he always tells everyone the Radeon is the better card for the money all the while his personal systems have had Nvidia cards and he just acts like it’s cause he got em for free basically… he doesn’t review products though ever and I’ve never seen him show off a build are benchmark overclock are anything I think he is just a self proclaimed expert in the tech space who likes to talk about Twitter and Reddit rumors about future tech and then pretend he has inside sources, his guest on his show Usually know less than he does about most things besides Wendell and Brian of techyes city , those two are pretty good for what they are but the AMD unboxed guys both where less impressive of knowledge than his brother Dan like they aren’t anything but used car salesmen basically pretending to have educated takes on hardware . I don’t dislike any of them i respect the grift but a lot of times there takes are hilarious. One funny thing was listening to the takes before the 7900xtx launched and the whole display port 2.0 shit how they were claiming Nvidia was purposely fucking people while AMD where saints for future proofing with display port 2.0 , that talking point came up with the Brian techyescity guy was like who gives a fuck it has display port 2.0 there aren’t even monitors with display port2.0 hahaha and then was like plus display port 2.0 monitors will be backwards compatible with 1.4a and both will have to use DSC the same way to get the performance haha. It blew the Tom guys mind he realized he had no idea what he was talking about and was just repeating the AMD talking points. I mean when has a GPU makers presentation given more time to the Display port stats and promotion to the actual card’s performance haha. That was a huge red flag instead they all where like excited about it and know I haven’t heard in months anyone mention display port2.0 again. Haha Are how about the Nvidia cards causing fires with the 12v plug being halfway inserted and running artificial benchmarks haha that was a huge thing till finally GN tested it and was like for sure user error. AMD shipped out defective coolers on $1300.00 GPUs and didn’t do a mass recall without a KZbinr having to buy 5 of them and test it to figure out the problem himself if he hadn’t did that there would be a lot of fucked AMD 7900xtx owners and then the used 6900xt that where cracking and fucking quick that turned into a they got humidity from being stored and shipped wrong. As if the only GPUs sold used and stored and shipped in un ideal conditions was a few AMD cards? Idk that was fishy as hell and the channels that stated that’s what they saw I bet they got a legal letter from AMD so fast threatening law suits that they just dropped that story . But it is odd to be that there isn’t a bunch of Nvidia x mining cards that have cracked gpu dies seems like it would effect both makers if it was from a large mining operation liquidation you telling me that they only had AMD cards???? Idk I think Radeon should be $600 max for there top end cards and try to gain market share by being the astounding better value but they damn sure do there best to barely compete with Nvidia hopefully Intel can get there shit together and make a fucking good gpu the arc gen1 isn’t that bad but gen 2 is needed for sure.

He says 7950x loses by 25% which his own benchmarks prove otherwise (look up video 13900K VS 7950X VS 12900K MAX OVERCLOCK BENCHMARKS), apart from obscure riftbreaker 7950x is within 1-10% in rest of the benchmarks. So even if 7950x3D is 20-30% faster than 7950x in games which benefit from extra cache (~15% on average when including games which do not benefit from extra cache), he will still call it a failure because "AMD fanboys said it's going to be 55% faster than 7950x", complete strawman. Zen 4 memory topology is ass, IF is too slow to run with DDR5 and at 1.5 ratio it can only hit 6000Mt/s before it starts crapping itself. All that tells me Zen 4 could actually benefit more from extra cache. I have no clue where everyone is getting confidence in saying it will be shit when everything points towards the latter. Looking at 5800x3D presentation, they made same errors in highlighting the benits of cache and nobody expected much and then were shocked to find out in some games the performance jumped by 30-40% (Watchdogs, Battlefield V, Starcraft II), even Frame Chasers showed 29% uplift in Warzone (look up video 5800X3D STOCK VS 5800X MAX OC BENCHMARKS). I do remember him hyping up these "500 dollar" consoles to be some ultimate 2080 Ti killer 4K 120hz capable machines. Literally all his content I remember was hyping up products that were still years from being released, setting insanely unrealistic expectations.

@@thecatdaddy1981 The SSD in the PS5 is equivalent in speed to a first generation Gen 4 SSD. The Series S/X SSD is equivalent to a Gen 3 SSD. The whole importance of fast SSD storage on the new consoles was to benefit from the lower amount of ram that developers had to work with. So they wanted to speed up the IO speed so faster memory travel could make up for the lack of not enough memory. If data is transferred fast enough a lot of data doesn’t have to be held.

Now, he's a pompus jerk, he said i was an idiot for suggesting AMD would have something like the Mi300 mega APU back in 2019. However, i feel like the 7800X3D might gain more performance over the 7800X than the 5800X3D over the 5800X, because AMD Zen4 can only run high latency RAM, and 3D helps to offset high latency. Now 50+% not a chance, but i can see it having a larger uplift than the last one And in hopium world, 7950X3D in theory a good scheduler could put frequency sensitive threads on the non-3D, and cache sensitive on 3D, moving them around to each CCD by monitoring cache misses and the ammount of back and forth between the CCDs. Now, windows would never get this level of optimisation, this is the level of fully custom OS like for the Switch. Additionally, that monitoring would require CPU cycles, however, in theory AMD could turn that ARM CPU normally used for OOBM for the Pro series of processors, as a hardware scheduler.
@neutechevo

Denver ,for that scheduling on the X3D ,Amd has already stated in CES ,that it would be done in driver level , by whitelisting and senting that Game straight to the 3d cache to work.. it was mention by Paul Alcorn from Tom's Hardware on their latest stream ,He told that He asked Amd directly and said that to him.

Sometimes, I wonder if these overhyped claims are used to set up AMD for failure like RDNA III will be 50%-70% faster than RX 6950 XT in select titles. I wonder if these Zen IV 3D V-cache could have a weaker performance uplift vs. Zen IV compared to 5800X3D vs. Zen III. That would be sad. With the increasing frequency and depth of discounts, Zen IV probably failed to sell enough compared to AMD's forecasts when they launched AM5/Zen IV. 3D V-cache is unlikely to win back a lot of consumers, who will not buy expensive AM5 motherboards and DDR5 when AM4/Zen III/DDR4 Samsung B-die are still good enough for the average gamer. With client and DIY declining, AMD will focus on data center/enterprise and FPGAs going forward.

Last year, I hadn't built a single AMD system for my gaming buddies. The prices for a good, cheap Z-690, and the deals on 12700k, 12600k, and cheap B die vipers has just invalidated last gen and current gen Zen. I slap em with a quick tune and OC/UV and a bit less fussy than Zen 3 tuning. The only valid argument these talking heads on YT have is that sometimes you get a bad IMC and you can't get reliable 4000mhz speeds. Still, 3733 C14 Dual channel with tightened sub timings is vastly beyond what tech tubers often do when they talk abut "performance".
