Any other authors here? Anyone else ever notice that right when the show finally solidified Fran and Max's relationship was precisely when they started slipping more and more CiCi & Niles buildup into the show? This was actually a very smart and clever move. It kept the "Will they won't they?" crowd watching even after the two main characters already got together. Fantastically done.

Love the reality check Niles gave CC. He'd been around probably since Sarah and watched CC pine over Max and try to insert herself into being his next option, especially after Sarah's death. Yes, Max would've done well to tell CC to knock it off. Niles unleashed two decades of frustrations of CC waiting around and being passive about her obsession. The difference between her and Fran is Fran was able to call Max out on him stringing her along. CC, despite being a fairly ruthless businesswoman and person overall, folded in the vain hopes of it would make Max hold her in his favor and in other aspects of her love life. And Niles was right, she had no life outside of being Max's business partner. We only saw her "friends" a small handful of times, and all they did was drink and flaunt their status. Her silence comes from the fact that what he was doing was no longer their usual banter; it was real. CC wasted the majority of life where she could've done or been with anyone/anything outside of being someone's easily replaceable #2.

They never hated each other they needed each other. The insults were a form of foreplay. When they were apart they missed each other dreadfully and pined pitifully for each other. Both were repressed in childhood, not really well emotionally . Well played. It was often played this way in the early movies Clark gable,Spencer Tracey era. Hate and love are not opposite. The opposite of love is indifference. You see it a bit in the new magnum PI You know that once they😊 get to know each other the sparks will eventually turn to flames.

The show was in its last season, and they decided to invent the idea that Nile's insults of CC meant that he really loved her.🙄 Yes, there have been times where he seems to miss her when she isn't around, but I'm sure it's because he missed giving her a "dig".😂 Listen, if both Lauren and Daniel don't understand why Niles and CC fell in love, that should tell you something. Niles and C.C. are a rare example of a bicker-bicker-kiss type relationship done right. Their style of romance makes sense with their personalities and personal histories. They eventually develop an appreciation for each other's wit and come to enjoy the verbal sparring. They can be vulnerable with one another in a way they rarely allow themselves to be with anyone. But they also accept each other for who they are and seem to understand that it's not a rejection when the emotional walls come back up and the snark returns (it's just because they both can only be comfortable with their open-and-unshielded moments by taking them in small doses). . And let's not forget, they are also compatible when it comes to preferences and kinks in the bedroom (or out of it, say, at Home Depot...?). XD

I always thought they were one of the funniest parts of this show. And when they got together at the end I was surprised but I wasn't. I have seen some people say them getting together seemed to come out of nowhere but I disagree. Like if you watch the show it kind of showed that there might be something between them even before they slept together. I mean wasn't it the second or third season where they kissed? Yeah they were drunk but still. There were different things from day one that ran throughout the series that kind of made me think they might get together and that is the part that I was not surprised at when they did. What did surprise me a little bit was that they actually did it then...the follow through. I would love to see an interview with the two actors and what they thought of the back-and-forth over the years because it was just so much fun to watch.
