I love this guy. He gets great vibrato on any note on the instrument. Absolutely a combo of an expert player on a great instrument. Astoundingly good. Also, he is so much fun to watch! He is 150% performing with his body, his face, his apparel. This is so good, far beyond I could have even imagined it being.

Das ist ein sehr inniges Stück mit toller Hintetgrundgeschichte: Die Sonate ist Prokofjev gewidmet, der ja auch Romeo und Julia vertont hat. Der erste Satz soll an die Liebe und an die verfeindeten Familien erinnern und besteht deshalb aus ruhigen aber auch aus sehr wilden Teilen. Allerdings ist in dieser Aufnahme vor allem im zweiten Satz die musikalische Seite etwas vernachlässigt worden. Auch vermisse ich das Feingefühl von Leleux etwas. Alles wirkt doch sehr getacktet und nicht so wunderbar zeitlos. Im ersten Sath ist der zweite bewegte Teil leider sehr abgehackt. Auch die Klaviersoli sind nlcht sehr gut ausgespielt. Aber der zweite Satz überzeugt ein wenig mit seinem Tempo.
