Mozartianly graceful transitions and balances and dance gestures and fluidity - and omnipresent good humour and taste... a great “minor” composer among the great tragic modernists of his time - (Bartok, Schönberg, Berg, Shostakowich, Prokofiev, Hartmann, Dallapiccola, Vaughan Williams)... the last happy pirouette of tonal music
