Always impressive the Lancon's toll. This is one of the largest in France, although I believe that the toll at St Arnoult en Yvelines (A10 west of Paris) is wider (because in one piece). I have driven on this road a few weeks ago.

astey highways The toll plaza on A5 (péage de Eprunes, just outside Paris) is huge too. And there's almost no traffic except when Paris goes on holiday.

Is a European version of EzPass (like whatever you clearly use for the French tolls) noticeably catching on towards the rest of the EU driving public? Or are regular tollbooths staying put for years to come from France to Sweden? The past 2 years in the US alone, much less during the pandemic has seen a great many agencies completely pulling the plug on ALL non-open road tolling (either pay by plate or transponder. No more inbetween). Especially the Eastern US where EzPass is universally accepted…
