Unique in the 1960s for having an MTV-style music video look, with a dramatization of the song's story instead of just a singer getting up on a stage and singing to an audience. France Gall is in high school lecturing a boy who played with her heart and telling him he'll get what's coming to him some day.

Yes, the video tells a little story. I've always thought (through the movie cloclo) that she made this music video soon after she broke up with Claude François.. but it seems I'm a little mixed up. Claude François was known to have multiple affairs at once (womanized), not really being constant, so to speak. It seems they both got together the same year the video was done? Does someone else know?

Most of her songs were written by other people though. This one was written by Serge Gainsbourg, and in my opinion, he was the best person to have written for her (Baby Pop is another one of his that he wrote for Gall and it makes for a great opening song for her album of the same name). He was very daring to experiment with lyrics and got a bit more eccentric with his compositions for her songs as the late 60s came in. The guy was a genius but also a fucking pervert (listen to Les sucettes, still sung by France Gall). EDIT: Apparently Abel Tesfaye only credited Gall. Honestly I don't mind it that much since Gainsbourg's daughter is faring well and she's not seeming to bitch about it.
