It's funny how most French people (most of my family is from France, so I can be talking) hate any form of authoritarianism and and higher power, but then seconds later you see them bowing in front of the tomb of Napoleon, praising him for being the best man France has ever had, myself included. It's all the "Frick the government," and "Vive la revolution," and then you ask them about Napoleon and they start ranting with hearts in their eyes about how we need someone like Napoleon on the throne again. Also, there is a nice quote that has always stuck with me. It loosely translates to "If you don't like the current system, then follow that system, and rise to the very top to change it." -Napoleon.

I personally enjoy Great Value over most ice cream sandwiches because the ice cream inside the sandwich tastes like actual sweetened vanilla that will satisfy your sugary cravings! The cookie itself isn’t mushy when you unwrap it and it has a nice texture of chocolate that combined with the ice cream creates a flavor out of this world! I hope you all get to eat a really good ice cream sandwich as well!

What you said in the first minute is exactly how my friends talk to me about the Police in the states, They're from Mexico and when they saw the numbers for how few people were shot by the police last year in America they laughed, told me that's how many are shot in one weekend in Mexico by the police and that American's are spoiled. if you can scream in an officers face and threaten them and you don't go "missing" - you're free in your country, despite what the media tells you. Glad I have them to check my perspective.

Well I’ve (personally) seen instances where that is not true. Ok so i'm a little late to the party but i'm a native french guy and i'd like to clarify the situation france is in when it comes to the police. It might end up being a long essay so keep up with me, i'm sorry in advance for any typos. The outbreak really started a week ago, before the protests when a music producer came back to his studio, he made just a few meter from his car to his studio and didn't wear a mask, which in france would be either the police asking you to wear it or if you don't have a mask its a 135 euro fine. He was caught by two police men at first, one with his uniform and the other in civilian. The music producer entered his studio and at that moment the 2 police officers illegaly enter his property and beat him up for 5 minutes non stop. The producer scream for help while not defending himself in fear of having charges against him if he manage to get out of this situation alive. In the studio there were 9 young boys, between 14 and 18 recording a song that heard the producer after 3 minutes of him screaming. They try to get to where he is but the police men blocks the door. after 5 minutes, the producer manage to push the police men out of the studio and blocks the door. The police men had called other officers and at that moment there were now ~20 (from what i could count) police officers in front of the blocked door pointing their guns at it. They broke a window and putted a smoke grenade in the building (which is a confined space and in theory they weren't allowed to do that), they then force their way back into the building and arrested the producer and the 9 kids that tryed to defend him, one of which was 14 and the cops didn't call his parents to notify that he was arrested which is the standard procedure. They then dragged everyone out of the building and beated them up some more and get them in the cars to drive them to the police station. In their report the police said that the producer tryed to take their guns and punched them. Fortunatly for everyone (except the cops ;D) There were cameras in the studio and neighbours recorded the scene, the police men realized that they were filmed and stopped beating them up. If the law that is to be review by the senate passed sooner, the videos would've been taken as illegal and in court the police men would've won. Now in France there are a few things you gotta know when it comes to the police. I'll start back a few decades ago. In the 60s a special police section called "les voltigeurs" was created, basically a voltigeurs is a group of 2 police men on a bike, the one on the front driving and the one in the back using a bar to hit protestors really hard. in 1969 it caused the death of a young parisian during a protest he didn't take a part in. He was chase by a group of voltigeurs and was beaten until death. His entire beat up was recorded by the journalists and the section was promptly removed from the police. later (in the 80s if i remember correctly) there has been a changed in the way of the police in the entirety of Europe. In Europe nowadays, most police officers don't have guns and do nothing during protests, they're there to film the eventual persons that use the protest to break into shops and arrest them the next day. They also speak to the protestors that might help them identify the criminals. It a peaceful way to arrest people that does bad things during protests. But there is one country where the change wasn't made, it's called France. In France almost every police officers is equipped with a gun (hand gun and/or assault rifle). There has been numerous reports of french police abusing of there power to beat protestors up. 1-2 years ago, a law finally passed to force cops to have their badge on at any given time. Before that, police men used to remove it from their vest to beat up protestors, making it harder to identify them. French police beat up everyone with no discrimination, peaceful protestors and simple inhabitant as well as criminals. In 2018 when the yellow jacket movement emerged, Macron reintroduced the section "les voltigeurs" under the new name of CSI75 bike section. During the protests many lost an eye because the police men were shooting flashball too close to the people they aimed at and instead of aiming at parts of the body with no vital organs, they aim at the heads. You're saying that we're taking it too far but the truth is we're sick and tired of being beated up, protest usually end up having no affect on the governement's decisions its been decades and it's only gotten worse. So thats my update on the french situation, hope you understand better what we fight for and why.

@11Survivor4 жыл бұрын
Issues is an inaccurate term. France has protests because it's a real democracy: We can go on strike unnanounced *legally,* for example, we will protest if our rights are infringed until the infraction is gone, or until we drown in our own blood defeating tyranny, like a true democratic nation.
