At 22-14 I thought it was over, but the work by the French no.8 was simply brilliant. And then the work by the English to get back in front! What a fitting finale to an amazing tournament, well done to both sides. And this is the real wheel rugby, that other version in the Olympics, with all due respect, needs to move over for this game, with a real rugby ball. The structure and back line movements of this version of rugby league brilliant...and brutal!

There's no problem having two versions as a free choice is central to our game's heritage. The other code's version isn't really 'rugby' of any type though, rugby league has nailed it here and well done France for the early work.

Well done to England. The whole of this World Cup has rekindled my love for RL as a whole, and the wheelchair games (and in particular, this one) have been a highlight for me. Hoping to catch more of this format of the game going forward, and going to a taster session at my local club tomorrow. Like Radman says, this format of the game needs more TV coverage going forward!

Happy for England…..after all the finals they been in over the last week they finally win something….and how good is wheelchair rugby league and union….phenomenal athletes and well done to each of them 💯🔥❤️

We've only been in two other finals with the Women's Rugby Union and the Men's T20 world cup. We won the T20 final. Would have won the Rugby too if it wasn't for the sending off with the red card.

@@seablock you would’ve still lost…….no matter if she stayed on……Portia Woodman had Lydia’s number….until that tackle….and head injuries are a serious matter…..so….

@@bronzemen34 The only Number New Zealand had before the red card was for the Samaritans. Had it continued with 15 players, it would have been a whitewash. Complete domination. Even with 14 players for most of the game New Zealand still nearly lost. Had we got the lineout done properly, England would have won. It still doesn't change the point you were getting at. We were only in two finals, and we won 1. It was 3 just recently with the Wheelchair Rugby League final against France. And yep, we won that one as well. Lastly, New Zealand should have had a red card too with the head collision against our player. But with it being held in New Zealand, they knew the opportunity they had at beating England with just 14 players. If the red card comes in and makes it 14 on 14. We get back to dominating and you lose the world cup. But as i say, it was in New Zealand so that wasn't going to happen.

@@bronzemen34 When did i say we didn't lose? I know we did. But for the reasons i've already said. But before the red card we were dominating you. Any other belief is just delusion. England didn't play boring Rugby against New Zealand. It was an exciting game even though we had only 14 players. Had it been 15 though, you wouldn't have come close to competing with us. As i say, you got it done by hanging on by your fingertips all the way to the end. If you think we're going to continue getting red cards in finals and playing with only 14 players, you're in for some disappointment. That won't happen again. We're not talking about all the years gone. We're talking about the Rugby world right now. England are superior to New Zealand and will prove it from here on out. You just got lucky this time. Then you add in the fact you should have got a red card yourself for exactly the same thing but only came away with the yellow. How's that the truth for you?
