Hi i applied for france tourist visa on 1st august my visa got rejected stating that intentions of stay is not reliable i repplied on 5th september and again it got refused 2nd time stating the same reason. I don't know that now i can appeal or whatvto do

My wife and I are in the process of applying for a long-term visa or long stay visa in retiring in France. Our source of income is our pension Social Security, which is enough money to cover the requirements to stay in France, but we would also like to work remotely to earn extra income from a American company not a French company, would we be in violation of this visa if we decided to do a side gig like this?
