Because Austria are considerably Far left compared to France and have suffered less immigration and terrorist attacks, the French are tired and are fed up with cuts to services and frontline security and food price rises etc they want to see change compared to the austrian people who where nervous about a change to the Far right, Le pen (who is not as Far Right as Hofer) attracts the more populist voter ie: the mainstream Right, you also have to note that the right vote in Austria was almost 48% thats half the population or thereabouts
