Lieutenant Colonel Tulsi Gabbard is a decorated Iraq War veteran, a former congresswoman who served on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, a former vice-chair of the Democratic Party, a former presidential candidate, and a political and foreign relations commentator. She is hardly a neophyte. Ms. Shapochkina should be aware of the qualifications of the person she is criticizing.

If you are going to have a serious discussion about what the US might do, you should have some commentators who actually know the people involved rather than people who are just having an emotional breakdown because their favorite candidate didn’t win. Make a serious effort to understand American point of view. Pete has 2 bronze stars from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He understands the fighting soldiers point of view, also Tulsi Gabbard, not just some desk jockey or liberal commentator.
@bunyip734313 сағат бұрын
Pete Hegseth understands the requirements of a platoon leader at O1-O2 level... it is a big stretch to think that this prepares someone to lead and control the entire US military, procurements and bureaucracy. Tulsi Gabbard has changed her view points so many times over the years it is hard to understand what she really believes. Her latest swing to Trump smells like a grab for fame and power.
@thankqwerty9 сағат бұрын
Whenever I see the "you have to understand the people" I read that as an excuse for bad decision.
@roninoscuro90879 сағат бұрын
The American point of view is better understood than you think. The perpetual wars feed the U.S. arms industry. The U.S. arms exports constitute 42% of all arms exports in the world. By comparison, in 2023, Buick sold one car in Spain...one. Boeing continues to lose its market share to Airbus. No U.S. exports are as lucrative as the exports of weapons. Poland is buying a lot of American military hardware. But the Poles are also being from South Korea and that is frowned upon in the U.S. With the apparent supremacy comes the privilege of having the world's primary reserve currency. The Americans have an absolute right to stop leading and walk the path of isolation. However, they will not have their cake and be able to eat it too.

France spends more money than Poland on defence. Those 3.9 % are spread for a 2.5 year defence budget. In real terms Poland will be spending less than 2% every year. If you calculate what actually was delivered from contracts Poland spent very little. Pure creative accountancy.

People seem to forget that the Land that Russia is taken from Ukraine has 80% of the natural resources of the country. Lithium reserves (Value at 70 billions dollars), coal, and Specially rare earth materials. Although the situation for Ukraine at the battlefield it is very difficult, Russia knows that their loses are astronomical and unsustainable and that's why it is trying to take the most land as soon as possible. Russian economists are warning Putin that it the war continues as it is by the Summer of 2025 the Russian economy will completely collapse. By the way, the European Union with its PIB of 17 trillion dollars + the UK 4 trillion dollars PIB have a lot more financial resources than the Russian Federation slightly bigger than Italy's PIB economy. We can't also forget the 260 billion dollars that the European Union has in Russian frozen assets that it could be easily used to finance the war.

what i find intresting is that alot of people who have had important parts when it comes to NATO and are generally all critical of how NATO allies including USA has behaved so far regarding Ukraine Including Former Secretary Genral of NATO Stoltenberg and alot of high ranking Officers of G.B And Security Analists who has had correct assesments of the War in general are actually usually somewhat psoitive or atleast not negative regarding the new Administration. This means that there was a high probablity that there was issues with the current Administration of USA and Other Political Leaders in Europa that have had a possibility to put brakes on others regarding aid to Ukraine. Hopefully this new administration of USA will force more Western NATO nations to follow in the footsteps of us in the Northern and Baltic Area of NATO and hopefully a STOP of USA leaderships Blocking of other nations Sending Modern systems to Ukraine.
