A little education. Mrs. Bianchi lives in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. BTW I own all perfumes made by Ms. Bianchi (25 in total). Here are my favorite perfumes created by Ms. Bianchi, in no particular order: 1. Sex and the Sea, Sex and the Sea Neroli 2. The Lover's Tale 3. The Black Knight 4. Sticky Fingers/Sticky Lips 5. Tyger Tyger 6. Libertine Neroli 7. Byzantine Amber, The Dark Side 8. The Mariner's Rhyme 9. Divine Perversion 10. Orris Soyeux 11. Voluptuous OudMs

Really appreciate the additional segment on recommendations/comparisons. While I’m very fond of the Chypre genre, this one sounds too sweet for my taste. Your description makes me think of Chypre Palatin…which I like, but it leaves me wanting more. I think I prefer a Chypre with a bit of edge/sharpness to it, maybe from the oakmoss(Chypre Siam from Rogue and Salome from Papillon come to mind).
@SeldomlyOftenАй бұрын
I'm the same way, this is quite sweet and choking for my use. You really need to check out Nimitr by PRIN :)
@PrincipemostprincipeАй бұрын
Etruscan water is my favourite chypre. I do have only one classic chypre and thats etruscan water. I always connect those oldschool fragrances to Italy very transitional fragrance. I really love it, i wear it all year round. Amouage opus v vintage version arrived today. Actually orris used in that one reminds me of etruscan water
@SeldomlyOftenАй бұрын
It's a very good fragrance, I wish there was a little more nuance in the base of the fragrance, to release me from the heavy, choking blanket. Actually yes, the orris in Opus V is similar in vibe to this!

Great review, as always! I always appreciate your friendly but no BS approach. This is such a good one. Granted, I have a soft spot for chypres, but I also think Francesca challenged herself here to dial back the more extreme aspects of her signature profile and the result is more wearable and balanced than some of the others. I bought a 30ml but quickly realized I should have gone bigger! Also, just to provide an alternative perspective, I have worn this to the office. And in summer. And almost always during the day. 😘. But I am also very bad at being conventional! I like the new “alternatives” section. Can’t speak to any that you mentioned because I haven’t smelled them. However, to me the most direct inspirations (and possibly alternatives) are Estée Lauder Azurée and the original Aramis. Both are still available and both still good!

Hi Daniel, I almost blind bought this fragrance because there was a really good deal. I am glad I didn’t and sampled it. I was expecting a much fresher experience. I enjoyed Mariner’s Rhyme a lot more, and I now own a full bottle. I also enjoy and own unspoken musk. Thank you for your insights. Take care.

My favourite Chypre and easily in my personal top ten goat fragrances. I'm a mature gent and have come from a background of growing up with early influences of Dior Eau Sauvage, Channel Antaeus and Le Male to name a few, hence I'm biased and love Etruscan Water so much.
@SeldomlyOften13 күн бұрын
@@steveb8269 huh, I don’t see a connection at all with those designers you mentioned (maybe Antaeus?) but nonetheless, Etruscan Water is awesome stuff if a little too loud at times.

@SeldomlyOften the range of fragrance genres from the 80's were fewer than they are today, generally speaking there were no sweet or gourmond, mostly chypre or fougere

I love this fragrance ❤️ I've worn it to office. You just have to limit your sprays. It's a green slightly animalic scent to me. Very unisex and not for the faint of heart. A little bit vintage but not to much. Nicely balanced.
