I'm not interested in making art a business, however, after watching many of your videos on KZbin and now hearing your story it solidified my decision to log into your website and become a paying customer. I think you are an amazing painter and now I'm also sure you are an amazing person too. I'll be looking at one of your classes by this weekend!

My IG feed is mostly ads and and "Suggested for you" posts yet I rarely see the people I've chosen to follow! I was posting my art there with little response so I've lost interest in it. If I do post any art, it's mainly to keep as an art portfolio as a record for myself. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes, the portfolio aspect is so nice, I also feel like it's primarily for ourselves and I miss that part of taking photos and seeing the progress 🙂

So much resonated. Right now I'm not looking to become a paid artist. I just want to meet my tribe and find my community.

I'm glad this helpedin some way 🙂 you're right, finding your tribe will be the most important. I find it really motivates to push through when family, for example, doesn’t get us doing art.

I have to agree with the quick reel type videos. I am not interested in that type of content. I prefer 15-30 minute videos and enjoy hearing the artists perspective and what is running through their mind while they work. As artist we tend to be isolated with our mediums. Or that ever presence voice in our head either rooting us on our creating self doubt. I also am not a big fan of product reviews. It seems everyone is doing this but not creating or teaching art methods, tips or tricks. Your videos and approach has been enjoyable. Keep up the good work and hopefully KZbin will change the algorithms in favor of long term videos like they used too. And I truly hope they fix our home page! Thank you for sharing.

Yes I see what you mean. I had never noticed about the reviews, sometimes I do some too, but yes definitely, as you pointed out, the most interesting part is how to actually use the supplies 🙂

Such a great, honest view of social media platforms. I much prefer the KZbin content and I really don’t like the shorts thing…clearly I am too LC for the fast pace…🤣😂🤣. I love following you here, so thank you for doing what you do x

As a consumer, my favourite platform is KZbin. I follow quite a few artists here and I really enjoy the longer tutorial formats. I always at least like and will often leave a comment as I know it’s helpful for the growth of their channel. I attend an art class locally and since I work full time, lack of physical time prevents me from taking longer classes on skillshare, Patreon etc. However, if my circumstances change, I always know where I can access my favourite artists. I do follow artists on instagram but I follow at least one tutorial every day here on KZbin whereas I don’t access instagram every day. Also, generally I don’t bother with the shorts. I think you made the right decision and it’s what I would do if I decided I liked teaching and also wanted to sell my art. I’m very grateful to all of you artists here on KZbin who are so generous in sharing your skills. I’ve learned so much. Thank you 🙏

I do so feel what you say. Thank you for your words, they encouraged my decision not to give effort into instagram, because I made the same experience as you. That´s why I also started over here on youtube. I wish you the best for your further growing. Your videos are great!

as a hobbyist, I find your art style very beautiful and I can say from a content consumer POV that I don't click on shorts .. I am mostly attracted to the way you use your supplies, which supplies you actually use and like, and how do you combine them. I know you have everything listed, but maybe if you have time, in the future, you could tour your watercolor palette. There are 200+ Daniel Smith colors and Im curious which colors a beginner should get (to not end up buying lower quality paints, pans that would not be used, very basic colors that would be very difficult to mix to get a turquoise for example, or God forbid buy every color they have) .. Thanks for the video :)

Thank you for your insightful feedback, the palette tour is a good idea 🙂 I also prefer long videos, sometimes I wobderif this has something to do with age 😁
