Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another reaction made possible via PATREON with Francis Cabrel and his song " La Corrida." Francis takes his masterful skills with guitar and takes us through a story a painful subject in bullfighting. Not only that the lyrics are deep but well written. It has so much sentiment and lift see my react now.

Since the time i'm awaiting in that dark room I hear cheers and songs At the end of that corridor; Someone touched the lock And I dived into the light of day I saw the brass bands, the fences And the people around In the first moments I believed I only had to defend myself But this place is a dead-end I start to understand They locked it behind me They were afraid I would step back I will end up getting it This ridiculous ballerina ... Is that world serious? Andalusia I remember The pastures borded of cactuses I'm not going to shake in front of That puppet, that lightweight! I'm going to catch him, he and his hat Make him spin like a sun Tonight the wife of the torero Will sleep on both ears1 Is that world serious? I pursued all those ghosts Almost touched their ballet slippers They'd hit hard in my neck For me to give in Where are they coming from those acrobats With their costumes made of paper? I never learned to fight Against dolls To feel the sand under my head It's crazy how good it feels I prayed for all this to stop Andalusia I remember I hear them laugh like I gasp I see them dance like I succumb I did not know one could have so much Fun around a tomb Is that world serious? Is that world serious? [in Spanish] Yes, yes man, man Dance, dance We have to dance once again And we'll kill others Other lives, other bulls And kill others Come on, come on Come on, come to dance

@@remoaron3211 You can put it any way you want, it is animal torture, it is a selfish act of men for the sake of tradition. someone not agreeing with it does not warrant to call their opinion bullshit. If you are happy to look away from the moral issue it is your problem, but don't act like somehow you need to see it and have experience in it to be allowed to dislike this practice. A tradition can be cruel and unnecessary, you don't get a pass cause it is old and makes some people feel like it connects them to their culture. You don't sound very wise yourself

Corrida de Francis Cabrel, tells the experience seen by the bull, the wait, then the opening of the doors of the arene then the fight, the animal suffers, reveals his life of freedom in the plains when He must fight for his life, the Matador plants his banderilles. The public has fun and laugh ... I had a lot of trouble accepting this song at first, the bullfight was not the most beautiful shows as far as I'm concerned, I (yes I say me!) but the Song is very beautiful ...

This is a song about the Corrida - what happens to the bulls pushed into the ring to face "these little dancers". The song is to protest against bull fighting, written from the point of the bulls. It's such a sad song. You should know that these "little dancers" put vaseline in their eyes so that they can't see straight. They have spears pushed in their sides and lose a lot of blood. Must say that whenever these "little dancers in their fancy pants" get a horn or two and are thrown over, I cheer.

I have goosebumps every time i hear it.. Lyrics are 90% of the song.. You should go deeper into it.. The bull is telling the story of how he sees the corrida, from his perspective, asking himself if this world is serious.. Feeling so relieved once his head is hitting the sand, when this painful torture and agony finally comes to an end.. It' s heartbreaking. The bull is surprised to see so many people cheering from his suffering, how can we have so much fun around a grave.. Is this world serious..

I get the goosebumps as soon as I hear the first notes of this song too. When I heard this song for the first time, I was still a little girl and didn't understand what it was about. But I could pick up the emotions from it, the sens of absurdity, the pain, the overall sadness. It has always moved me very deeply and when I listen to it with headset and immerge myself in the song, I always cry at the end.

Hi Dereck, always good job ! Congrats ! From Francis Cabrel, you must try "la cabane du pêcheur", great song, with a little taste of Dire Strait ! And after that, you have to discover Henri Salvador, an old french crooner with latin influences, with an amazing and beautiful voice ! Unfortunatly gone now... And start with "Jardin d'hiver", you will enjoy

What I love about this song is that you are looking at the corrida from the perspective of the animal. We hear, smell, and feel through the bull who is experiencing the absurdity of a situation. It makes us think about the animal lack of understanding of the purpose of the corrida. That's genius. The music transports you through Andalousia.

THE BULL FIGHTING ! [in Spanish] Yes, yes man, man Dance, dance We have to dance once again And we'll kill others Other lives, other bulls And kill others Come on, come on Come on, come to dance lyricstranslate.com/fr/la-corrida-bull-fighting.html

Hi Dereck. Unfortunately and sadly, bullfighting is something very traditional, popular and big in my home city in southern France near the Mediterranean, Nîmes. It's the only thing I do hate about the whole place that I like a lot. I wish they could use our beautiful Roman amphitheater for concerts only, but not for bullfighting that needs to be abolished as cruelty that belongs in the past. Tradition doesn't account for everything, otherwise there'd still be gladiators fighting to the death or Christian prisoners torn to pieces and eaten alive by lions.

As I've never been into bullfighting, I took years to understand the part about the torrero woman sleeping on "her" two ears (in french, its impossible to distinguished between her and his, when it's on plural form) I thought he was twisting the expression (sleeping on one's two ears meaning having a peaceful sleep) and saying she'll kinda be so much crying that she'll have to push the pillow against her ears to finally find sleep. But then I discovered that in traditional bullfighting, the custody is to cut the ears and tail of the animal. And then this sentence took all its meaning, the bull here is saying she will sleep on HIS two ears.

Yes, you are right. He is so humble. I saw him in concert in July at Le Havre in Normandy, he was so clam, almost shy, so close to the public. He hates the star system. He is 67 and still lives in Astaffort, the small village where he grew up in the South West of France.

The corrida with the bull's point of view ! Francis Cabrel is coming from southwestern France, not so far from Spain. Corrida is popular in Spain and some cities in the south of France (Arles, Nîmes, Béziers, Dax, Mont-de-Marsan, Bayonne...)

Probably my favourite song by Cabrel. This song still sounds "fresh" because this butchery still is topical unfortunately. The melody is wicked but the lyrics are even more, so powerful/ spot on...singing this song from the bull's perspective was such a great idea, as it's exactly what it must be feeling from start to finish. I've always hated bullfighting and still cannot understand why such an appalling tradition carries on existing in some countries (including mine) and I'm proud that such a popular artist here in France had the courage at the time to openly express his disgust through music...Bravo Francis. PS: Dereck, please react to his old hit "Encore et encore". ;)
