Lord, please bring me closer to you again. I want all the things you've brought me through not to be a waste! Teach me to cling to you again, Lord. amen

I heard this in the afternoon. I thought to myself “man i miss who i was when i first fell inlove with God” and rev 3 stuck to me… i went to bed, woke up decided to read the bible a bit but hard been skimming through. And i was trying to find that one verse about the horses in revelations, not even remembering the bible verse location, and then BAM. There it was.. rev 3, and it was on the exact verse pastor chan said.

How do I get that longing for God back? I really need to work on my discipline with spending time with God in worship, the word and prayer.

Treat your relationship with God as an athlete would treat their training. The more time you spend in his presence the better. The answer to your question is time... the more time you spend the better it will get

It's been two years but still this is such a relevant question. I've seen in the little things like speaking about Him with friends and listening to music that centered around Him, my desire to talk to Him and just be around Him grows. The truth is when we start to lose our longing for Him, it's usually because there's something else we're going after. (You cannot serve and love two masters, Matt 6:24) So I'd say finding out what you've started longing after and walking towards and actively switching it back to God is a good first step as well xx

I think the Key is discipline and self control ! I know when I get “more time “ what do I do?--be lazy seek fake comfort. We have the time .it is hard and it’s painful but denying yourself to experience the presence and intimacy of God?

Ido not understand what happened to Gideon. He seemed to become arrogant after God used him, as if he did it hi. He had his men shout For God and for Gideon. Then he makes an ephod and it becomes an idol. I wonder if a lot of servants of God, empowered by the Spirit, forget God and become arrogant as if they accomplished mighty deeds on their own merit?

He is spending too much time before getting into the message. He is half way through his message and has not made the link to "Create Discipline For Yourself". It is hard to learn from someone with this style of teaching.

If ur finding it hard to learn from francis chan, its because ur too religious bro..u shud go to the Catholic seminary and start wearing robes

@@turyhumphrey7767 Actually...it is the other way around. A new Christian will not grasp his message before tuning out. If I was too religion, I would grasp his message. Think about it!

I see what you're saying. For me, the first half is what spoke to me the most. But I'm also used to listening to longer sermons like TD Jakes. He goes all over the place! I love it LOL
