If Francis was thinking about 1 Corinthians 10:13 then you are right, God will not allow us to be tempted more than we can stand. However, if Francis was thinking about Job or Jonah, for example, then God showed that he allowed (in Job's case) and gave (in Jonah's case) hardship that tested to a point where they were beyond hoping in themselves and had no option but to rely on God for rescue from their sitautions. James famously wrote about suffering. I think you make a good point, Dancing77Kat, that will keep us in check against misusing scripture.

Patricia Colvin Jesus is our one and only teacher but yet most believers have sought their wisdom from some mortal preacher at some church, religion, ministry or even here on the Internet. I am someone who knows Jesus very very well and He has been teaching me scripture over these last six plus years. Yes Jesus Himself, Him alone and no one else. Many believe they are sanctified in truth and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many believe they cannot lose their salvation and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many believe that they are hearing from God and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many believe they have had dreams or visions from God and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many think that they were instructed to spread God’s truth and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many believe that women can preach the gospel and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many believe that Christians need to attend a church and I will tell you they are wrong. Many believe that they need to read the KJV Bible and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many believe that they must be baptized in water and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many are following preachers who they believe were appointed by God and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many believe that it is normal to get sick and I will tell you they are wrong. Many believe that Christians can never stop sinning and I will tell you that they are wrong. Many believe that we are all children of God and I will tell you they are wrong. And lastly many many believe that they are saved and that they are going to heaven and I will tell you that they are very very wrong! I know all of these things and I am not being pompous nor am I boasting, it is not my pride and it is not even vanity. It is simply my boldness and my confidence in the relationship that I have with my Savior Jesus Christ and with all the things that He has taught me. So if you desire to gain the wisdom that I possess then you must understand how to test and discern the Spirits. You see the majority of believers do not understand the importance behind testing the Spirits? How important is it? Well if you do not understand how to test the Spirits then you can never grow and mature in the Spirit. You can never have Jesus teach you scripture or have Him answer any of your questions. Plus if you do not know how to test the Spirits then you cannot possibly follow the will of God for your life, be sanctified in God’s truth nor can you be born again or overcome sin. And if you do not overcome sin then you will always be susceptible to the sickness and disease of the devil like this Coronavirus nonsense that is currently going around. So hopefully this little message awakens you to the fact that you are simply lost and misguided if you do not have Jesus as your one and only teacher. Your body is now the temple of God and it is not some man made place of worship. And you cannot possibly learn from Jesus unless you understand how to hear and test those spiritual thoughts that dwell inside your brain.
