The fact that he made both Godfathers, The Conversation and Apocalypse Now in a span of just 7 years is absolutely amazing.

Wow it's insane how much different The Godfather would've been had Evans and Coppola not stuck to their guns and forced the studio to let them set the movie in 1940s/50s New York with Al Pacino, instead of Robert Redford in present day St. Louis. It would've been just another forgettable crime drama from the 70s. Luckily Coppola got to make the movie the way he wanted and now it's remembered as one of the best if not THE best movies ever made. If it's not #1 it's at least 2.

Great interview...this looks like it's 9-10 years old at least based on the set and the appearances of Howard and Robin.

Howard... a listener or 30 years and first responder.. I'm begging.. when you pull the plug on the gig and opt to travel, kiss your bride and put the radio stuff behind you.. please please release a memoir's kinda thing.. if it's a netflix thing or paperback thing.. whatever.. you've sat feet away from legends like this giant who have literally changed families and time spent in homes across the world. A Coles notes of these legends would make Private Parts seems like a stepping stone. Fred is is awesome. Gary is kinda like weird... but he's kinda cool.. like you'd hang with him if he had his mom's car to drive ya home. Robin's cool cause she's smart AF and she had the balls to serve. You're the master of reading people. Create something to show the suits you were right.
