I met FFC, years ago on the set of godfather 2. He was kind, warm & accommodating. He asked if I wanted a part in the movie. I said, no. I wanted to take photos of the set & the film shoot. He nodded & said “ ok “ & instructed me how to find a hiding place when cameras were rolling. Mr Coppola treated me with great consideration. I love telling this story, ❤️

I have the reverse. It's being able to get soledad, solitude, alone time, and then I can be with people. It's restorative being alone. Not lonely at all. Indeed, it is a necessity. Go figure. Pity this video, the title, is a bit off, misleading. I really was expecting more on him speaking about solitude. It's very glib and superficial here. Sad.

When he talks about it's not how long you live but how well, and a mosquito doesn't know that it's got a short life. It reminds me of reading For Whom the Bell Tolls, which I would highly recommend to anyone. I've read a handful of Hemingway's novel and I feel that FWTBT gives the deepest look into Hemingway's thinking, his philosophy, how he sees love, death, time, courage, duty. I feel it "informs" you on the rest of his novels, what the rest of his novels show you, but leave it up to you to pick up on it. Most (or I think all) the rest of his novels simply don't have the same philosophical contemplation, the deep thinking on all these powerful facets of life. It has one of the most brutal scenes I've ever read in a book. It's one of my favourite pieces of literature. Get on it. Feel free reply with a book recommendation :)

Yeah I feel ya. The Godfather is a great film, don't get me wrong. It's a great piece of art, wonderfully made. The mafia wasn't like what that movie portrays at all, and that's fine. Maybe I have to re-watch it, but it just isn't *incredible* to me. Personally Apocalypse Now is my favourite from him and one of my favourites of all time. It really sucks you into the tension, madness, and insanity of war and especially in a jungle with a guerilla warfare enemy. The creepy soundtrack, the chaos at the Do Lung bridge. Using the basis of Heart of Darkness as a skeleton for the story was genius. I love that movie.

Amazing elevator game! The first 2 floors is the similar to me, but the rest of the 6 floor is just: finally - i don't have to work so hard to gain nothing more from day-to-day and finally i don't have to worry about having a wife or a children or a house, because it's finally over. When the elevator stops and opens: oh! no! it was just a mind game. Life goes on and no matter how hard i'm working i will not achieve anything. So i have 2/8th common with mr. Coppola.
