It's a niche game. Not sure what the budget is on Forza 5, but I would guess, at the very least, it would be around $100 Million to develop. If you do the math, they would need to sell 1.67 Million copies of the game just to break even. Not only is it a niche game, but its also exclusive to the Xbox One, which makes it that much more difficult for them to break even or make a profit, considering the high price of the console. And unless you are a car fanatic, Forza 5 won't be a first choice for most people. If they don't try something, anything, to make money, they will fail.

That's definitly an interesting point, one in which ill have to take your word. Sill, id doubt all forza wants to do is break even or do well. Even if they sold enough copies on day one they'de still want to make as much money as possible and would still include the microtransactions- everyones doing it now and it sucks. Games are incomplete now. 60 bucks for the disc and half the content. 100 bucks for all the "dlc"

Weak consoles? Nintendo consoles dont have bug or glitches like Sony and Microsoft. Just because nintendo puts their consoles out at different times doesnt mean they are "shit". Nintendo by far makes the most enjoyable games for much cheaper than the "next gen" consoles do. I dont see Sony or microsoft being able to make a game pad for a controller. And the consoles arent even worse. they do the exact same expect they actually focus on gameplay. Multiplayer doesnt define a game, graphics dont define a game, its the story that defines is and Nintendo by far does the best at it. No Microtransactions, no glitches, no dlc. They care about making gamers happy not about money. I can see all you play is call of duty and battlefield. Which arent real games.

Whenever the subject of microtransactions comes up i just think of Dead Space 3 (shudder) right in the middle of the game, approach a work bench to upgrade my plasma cutter and a banner running across the screen is telling me to spend $ at the EA store. Way to kill the immersion. Alot of people look at it as dishonest and money grabbing ( and it is), but to me i think it has more of a chance of killing game immersion and ruining the experience. Blak Magus I'am not sure if the PSN+ are even needed for all retail games. I think it's still up to the game publishers, like EA, UbiSoft, Activision, Blizzard, etc, etc… If they actually want to rent servers at PSN for their game or just ask Sony to allow them to link their server into PSN and go around the PSN+ fees for their game. I think Sony actually doing this.

I will only play/buy a game if the micro transactions are for cosmetics only (other than reasonable xp boosts). If you can buy the best items with money while a ftp player has to grind fkr 400-800 hours to get it then, to me, the game is ptw not ftp. I hate most of the "ftp" models that have permiated the market. This model sure as hell does not have a place in games that cost you $60 to buy. I can see season passes but I hate dlc because too many devs take finished content out of the game so they can charge you. *cough* Mortal Kombat *cough*

Hey Francis I agree with you. I don't mind paying for permanent things in free to play games especially if it's a game I play alot, But that temp xp boost or any other temporary bs can go to hell. If I buy a game don't try to rob me of another $60 bucks. Like borderlands 2 even if you bought the season pass they still had dlc you had to pay for above that cost. Yeah, basically the people who hate micro transaction are people with essentially weak self control, they spend the money since they can't control themselves, then they blame the company. Not defending the companies, they know so many are like this so they tailor games for the weak willed. They throw out the shitty little worm, and they hook people who find all their happiness from games, give them an opportunity to have a lot of fun and get the shit they want in game, and they will pay money for it, videos like this are made when the person who has been fucked steps back and realizes that they have essentially been buying nothing, there is no winning this, game they're made to never end so that they can continue to extort cash as long as the buyer doesn't wise up. But when they do... when that realization hits, that you just got fucked and you can do nothing about it, and you stand back and realize how fucked up people are, that they would essentially steal millions from people below them. I would imagine it's a very maddening realization.

I Originally liked the Wii U and Nintendo because I didn't have to deal with the micro transactions and DLC Bullshit that plagues the other consoles. Unfortunatly that isn't the case any longer as Nintendo is starting to learn and incorporate that stuff into their own consoles which is a shame. DLC is ok if you're getting a decent amount of content after you buy a complete game (meaning the game is completed without major issues). Like the expansions in games like Skyrim or such, that's ok. Maps in COD though, that's freaking stupid.

***** agreed but the for skin packs and such in like minecraft on xbox, they say they wont make or even look into a skin editor because they could get sued. the same game you can make pixel art of the vary skin someone wants to make. then theres the texture packs, people have modded saves that allow them to have any texture yet they are forcing you to buy most of them. I understand this is xbox and not a pc, but cod emblems could be sued over, saints row character creator his a few fine lines etc etc. then there was the first games of last gen, oblivion horse armor for one, or preorder dlc thats released later. When I get exclusive gamestop dlc, I expect it to stay exclusive or the incentive to buy early falls flat. Then theres games like gundam battle operation on the playstation 3, its free to play, you have 3 energy each energy takes 2 hours to fill unless payed for, suits bonuses and stuff I get. and Id pay for some of it if only it wasnt japanese. They rarely port gundam games over to america after the flop gundam crossfire after its rushed launch.

I love stand alone games like crysis 3 blood dragon, thats what dlc should be. most skin packs I get it but they are over priced, I honestly think the prices should be reflected by the amount of content you get, if its single player type how many hours will it add, missions items etc. if its like 4 missions and 2 new guns for 4 hours its not worth the same as something like skyrim dlc.

Warframe is probably one of the worst examples you could have thrown in there imo due to the fact that absolutely everything can be obtained in a fairly reasonable amount of time (excluding a small handful of things, but you don't need those to do well or progress so it's irrelevant) without spending any real money. The only things you can't obtain are cosmetics. Still get the point you were trying to get across though ;]

Seraphyx PC games like RuneScape are F2P with the option to purchase a monthly/yearly subscription to unlock extra content/locations. Jagex, the company that runs the game, are doing so well that they're making a game for new gen consoles now. Just sayin, there's better ways to make money on a game than to nickle and dime every little thing from the users.

GreenFre4k I'm not sure what comment you are referring to. Are you talking about the video in general or Warframe? Warframe isn't nickle and diming anyone because you don't need to buy anything apart from the cosmetics like I already said. Mobile games nickle and dime you to hell, Warframe is nothing like that. Yes, some people like f2p with the option of a premium subscription and some people don't because they feel like even though they are paying a subscription they still aren't getting everything from the cash shop/item mall. There's also the fact that if done poorly the "free to play" version of it will only act as a demo rather than a legitimate free to play game since a lot of content can be locked behind the subscription fee. Look at Tibia as an example. Can't class advance, hp/mp regen is way lower, tons of content you will never be able to go to unless you sub.

***** Start listing off the games you're talking about then. I don't know, nor have ever heard of, any f2p game that has not had in-game purchases or some way for players to spend money. You don't need to customize your character, it's not an essential part of gameplay progression. And you're still wrong. They allow you some basic customization options like changing colors of parts of your warframe, so it doesn't require you to spend money. You want more indepth customization and better options, then pay for it, otherwise you don't need to spend a dime for anything. They are not creating these assets for charity, it is a business and their goal is to make money. The only difference with Warframe is that they are doing it in a FAR more ethical way than a vast majority of other f2p games.
