Francis is spot on about the board meetings. The UFC and other fighting organisations aren't like any other company. People fight and put their well-being on the line. This is a cost that must be compensated in majority.

Francis doesn't want to be in bad terms with the UFC, he has such a positive heart he doesn't want to manifest the negativity between fighters and company. He's giving the UFC an open door in doing the right thing.

Great to see an athlete talk so openly about some of the problems behind the scenes in terms of contracts and the like. It gives a real insight into what it is actually like for these people. When he started talking about the hardships he went through as a young boy and into his early adulthood, I, having grown up in relatively difficult conditions in Nigeria, understood everything he meant and could relate completely with his story. A truly enriching hour and a half.

It cannot be understated the sheer amount of balls it takes to do what Francis did. To go into a title fight against an undefeated Ciryl Gane with a destroyed knee on the last fight of his contract knowing the magnitude of the situation and everything riding on that one fight, if he lost that fight his leverage and power would have been completely gone and he pulls it off.
