Blaize Wrong, you're not understanding how supply and demand works. There are thousands of unsold Wii Us sitting on shelves in archaic toy stores and game shops around the world... know how many Amiibos there are? None. They've honed in on the supply and demand, they didn't just make a billion more Amiibos than they needed, now they've created a panic for the inability to get an Amiibo in the future. This means future releases will sell well because people will think they're only going to be able to get an Amiibo on eBay for 45 dollars. The way business works is this: You can meet demand, you can be short on the demand, but never supply too much. They haven't, so they win.

Gnoggin had a good explanation of why. He said that it's because importing into America is slow as fuck because of people striking, and them not being able to supply the demand. There was another company that took more then 3 months to get their small shipment of peanuts.

Prior to Wave 3 I had defended Amiibo. Yeah, some are going to be rare, just like other toy lines. You can't expect Captain Falcon to have the same availability as Mario. Then the Rosalinapocalypse happened....You couldn't preorder her. You had to be one of the lucky few to be early enough in line in order to get one. Stupid me decided I would just wait on a restock. THEN THEY ANNOUNCED THERE WOULD BE NO FUCKING RESTOCK! Now we hit wave 4, and half of the goddamned wave was no longer available for preorder mere hours after I got out of work. I can't drop my entire life to go to a store in the vain hopes that I'll be able to reserve a fucking toy. I'm a goddamned adult. I just want Robin and Lucina, and that's probably not going to happen now. Thanks Nintendo.

+Tom Burns At least majority of the other amiibos are widely more available than us in the U.S. :/ We have Mario...Mario...Zelda..Mario...Pikachu oh and Mario....After literally months of nothing I saw the first Splatoon 3 pack locally and it's pretty much been unavailable online since it's announcement way back when. I got lucky to get Charizard and 30th Anniversary Mario where they were available online for roughly 10 mins. No joke, I lucked out and saw them randomly and I checked back and saw they were sold out :/. Hell, even Toad and Pacman are rare/hard to get :/ and I bought Pacman on an impulse purchase.
