Shouldn't play in New York, for either team, if you can't take criticism from the fans or media. That comes with the territory. If its bothering Lindor this much then he's soft like the team he plays for. You get patted on the back when you play well and criticized when you stink it up. I don’t want to hear about his defense when majority of his hitting stats come when we know the season is already over. I grew up in NY. I've been a Mets fan since Shea opened in 64. While a great place, w great fans, what makes NY a place where one demands and feels entitled, any more than any other city or ball team in America. It's not last century, when NY standards were great under Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio and somewhat Mantle. After Donnie all the standards if NY is not what they were. I loved the Mets when they were liveable lovers and not much was expected until Seaver and Hodges brought them to respectability. But royalty, really? Lindor is fine, let him alone. Stearns eventually will clean up the mess Uncle Stevie inherited from the standard less Wilpons

I do agree.....most .... with the last comment..... which is that Pete and Lindor are the meat if the batting order and it's their responsibility to make sure that there isn't a massive offensive implosion in April. They are both veterans and they are both more than capable of carrying a lineup. If they did start out 7-16 after 23 games then both of them would have to take a good look at themselves and answer one very serious question.......What role did I play in this disgusting start???

Sal is amazing. He'll bash Pete saying something needs to change in the locker room and it must be him, but his numbers are always there. Lindor's first year was horrible. Lindor's second year (2022) was great, but struggled early. 2023 he was God awful until, coincidentally, his second daughter was born in June, and he was good after that and this year, while early, is awful. It doesn't surprise me that he hasn't been an All Star as a Met yet because he stinks until about Mid June, but Alonso is the issue? Miss me with that, Sal.

judge would be getting the same criticism across town if he was producing the same. tired of the guessing who the “leader” of the team is. Lindor is without a doubt THE leader even with not being “home grown”. many factors play into the fan criticism in my opinion not just the contract. never fun watching not only your best player, but the core/team as a whole start the season in a “slump” when the guys across town and fans are having a grand time and meshing. just an opinion

This organization can't figure out how to sign good players early in their career, hence the Braves. Why would they not sign Pete earlier in his career, they could've signed him for a very favorable contract. Sign them early for a reasonable contract and build around you're young players. They have another opportunity with Francisco Alvarez. Let's see where this goes.

I’ve been a Mets fan since 1962. BTW that’s BC 😂. When we got Lindor I was under the impression that he was more of an impact player than he is. He can play steady shortstop and he hits intermittently. Very streaky. He is nothing like what was advertised. He hasn’t shown to be a “put the team on his back” type player If anything, he crumbles under the pressure. I’m always pulling for him though because I’m a diehard Mets fan. But it is true the fans are MUCH easier on McNeil, Alonso, and Nimmo. And Lindor is as good as any of those guys. That’s why My team isn’t going anywhere. Again.
