Abraham gave a tenth of his spoils to Melchizedek as a gift, not a tax. There is no record of Abraham giving anything else to the priest. Jesus said he came to Fulfill the law and His last words on the Cross were "IT IS FINISHED!" The laws of Moses were ONLY meant for the Jews to show them they needed a savior. It was NEVER meant for the Gentiles. We have never been under the law, the law could not save you and you will be judged by the law if you follow them. Gal 5:4-6

When Abram titled to Melchizedek, he gave a tenth (10%) from the spoils of the battle with Chedorlaomer -- not of all his possessions. Then when the king of Sodom offered to give Abram the booty (as a reward to placate a more powerful man then himself), Abram refused it. So who got the 90%. After deductions for those that followed Abram, the rest of the 90% went back to the king of Sodom. So the result was that Abram gave 10% of what was not his property. That puts all the tithing teaching of this mis-leader in the recycle bin.

If Abraham did not tithe of his property gained in war then by definition Abraham is a thief for tithing on someone else's property. This however is not true. His men destroyed the enemy and gained possession through conquest in war. That's why the Hebrew language says "that is yours" in Genesis 14:23 because %10 was property of Melchizedek as God's priest.
