He was so humble and normal!!!, He is of of the best tenors ever and here he is talking like any one!!!...stupid stories of his "crazy personality" are so unfair!!!ª. He was a normal sensitive guy; probably he reacted when attacked, as any man,..defensive!!!. Been on stage is like walking naked on the street, all of you is exposed, so is easy to receive comments...good and bad. In his case, most of the times unfair bad ones. Franco Bonisolli one of the best tenros ever!!!BRAVOOO!!!

Thank you, John! Yes, you are right. With some videos, real and true, I liked to show the private Franco. He was like he was: Always honest, he was not ashamed of his thoughts and because he had no big deals with companies and managers, he always could say what he wanted. He was special.

Dear Mr. Baum, thank you so much for your kind reply; I felt this, without meeting maestro Bonisolli in person. I guess that he was not "persona grata" for some other artists, that really did not haved his talent, technique, nor personal charm. Read in internet that he was a "strange personality, due to his brain tumor"...this so unfair and so "ill directed". My partner in several recitals and concerts Martha Colalillo, worked with him at the Arena di verona, several times, and had the same opionion as you...a honest, humble, nice, good heart person and very, very talented artist. Please keep on posting videos of this tenor...when I get as half as good as he was, will express in public my homenage...you'll see. Muchas gracias.Saludos!!!

@@Andi6205 when i was 16 years old at 1980 i bought the karajan trovatore on vinyl. Never heard of Bonisolli, but immediately fell in love with his color of voice and style. Big voice and elegant too, listening to donna non vidi mai at the acanta album. There is always something happening when he sings, always my favorite together with Jon Vickers.

Thank you for posting this as this shows a very real, personal side to Bonisolli. I once went to a dress rehearsal of Ballo in which he was the Riccardo. Unfortunately he marked, singing all the high phrases an octave down in order to save his voice for the opening night. After the rehearsal a teacher of mine who was his friend went backstage to say hello. Bonisolli, happy to see his fellow tenor, joked with him saying, "You cannot say I sing badly tonight ....because I did not sing! "
