FACCIAMOLA FINITA!!!!! Cominciamo a lodare i VERI TENORI!!!!!!! Grazie di tutto FRANCO!!! CI MANCHI TANTISSIMO!!!!!

For me he is the only true tenor, so much passion and fire in voice AND i also love the fact that he was outspoken and did not hesitate to speak his mind.

If singing is not this beautiful connection with the audience, where a great performer (amazing tenor!) pours himself out to his listeners as we see here, I don't know what it should be. Beautiful!!! Grande Bonisolli!! The world of opera misses this kind of singing, this amazing experience.

The unicum! Franco is greatest magic tenor! He is warm and exact. The truth, power and never prudence, not saving or caring of himself, and didn't hide anything from us. All the magic was giving out till the rest, till the bottom... Thanks, Franco!

Bonisolli was of course almost an exact contemporary of Pavarotti. They sang pretty much the same repertoire. And they sang in the same houses. But Bonisolli was more fun. I remember at San Francisco Opera Gordon Getty had paid for a new production of Gioconda designed to showcase Pavarotti. Pavarotti sang it well of course but two years later they wanted to do it again and he wasn't available. They brought in Franco. I saw both of them do the part from the same seats. Who was better? I remember Bonisolli quite well but Pavarotti hardly at all. Bonisolli threw himself into the role. He stormed around the set singing up a storm. Bonisolli and Pavarotti had vocal differences. Probably Pavarotti's best recording was Rodolfo in La Boheme. Bonisolli's best recording is also La Boheme but the one by Leoncavallo not the more familiar version by Puccini. You owe it to yourself to seek it out and hear it. Both had a solid High C but Bonisolli kept his longer. Pavarotti has a smoother prettier sound. very even and balanced. Bonisolli's voice had what I called "gear shifts", as he went up and down the scale he could sometimes be heard to adjust his placement. But Bonisolli was always more committed and impassioned. Bonisolli had begun his career as a light tenor. He sang Almaviva something Pavarotti could never have done. He always had a secure top but when I first heard him years before it wasn't a real big voice. But it grew. He had a bigger more robust sound than Pavarotti by the time I heard them in Gioconda. He was more fun because he obviously was enjoying himself. He was exuberant. What Pavarotti had was better management.

¿Pero cómo se puede cantar así? ¡BRAVO! ¡BRAVO! Y ¡BRAVO!.

Bravo, Franco!!!

"Old tenor hero" but here not as his best. Not in tempo, starts to early and is flat here and there. Does people NOT HEAR THIS ?
