I don't mind the half tone down. As you say it is a great performance for someone with his size of voice. What I love most about Corelli is that beautiful all enveloping sound which live was to die for. I love MDM and Pippo also but they had a different quality to their singing. Corelli had that ability to draw you in and seduce you with that glorious gorgeous sound.

Have talked with him was like have read books as "How to sing" or even more full of singing knowledge. There a few teachers like him, but what I can not guarantee to you is that you will find them in a conservatory. Greetings

Why don't we proclaim him as the greatest voice that has ever lived. He had an incredible voice color and high frequency. Opera lovers know him well but the others also must know his talents!

Si ricordi che il caposcuola rimane sempre Caruso..Sui paragoni dissento perché a mio modesto parere Krauss tenore lirico leggero lo puo confrontare con Schipa-Tagliavini-Di Stefano-Pavarotti.Un tenore spinto come Corelli........un tenore Drammatico come Del Monaco con...forse cosi isponde a criter i più logici..Quello che voglio farle capire un Del Monaco non potrai mai cantarmi u8na romanza...UNA FURTIVA LACRIMA....non rientra nelle sue corde vocali......Un Kraus non si cimenterà mai nel ruolo di OTELLO...

I wonder when this recording was made , certainly this was the earlier Franco Correlli , in magnificent fresh youthful voice . I first heard him in 1967 at the Comunale Florence singing " Forza del Destino ". Applause broke out the moment he walked on the stage , an amazing voice and technique , the same even tone from lower to higher register . Many singer can sing belcanto in their earlier years . Thanks very much a beautiful recording .

Ho visto Corelli colla Callas a Parigi nella Norma, qualche anni fa ... certo, e mi avevo già all' epoca impressionato tanto fisicamente e vocalmente. Però Pollione non gli da nessuna difficoltà davvero, invece in quest' aria di Bellini, appanaggio dei tenori leggeri, sfortunamente, é assolutamente sorprendente ! Se lo stile non è perfetto, il legato è un poco rigido, canta sul soffio che sembra sensa fine. Bravo Franco !
