@@musingsbymascha Ooh, I don't know if it's a passing current trend or not. I did go through a brief phase last September but it passed. This time around it's a bit stronger, but we'll see. About 80% of the decks I've bought in the last month or so are all Marseille-style.

@@toadstooltarot Only time will tell....I'm in the playing card phase right now....and runes, too...with Marseille being my beloved and treasured constant.

I have the Heri 1718 deck and love it but the 1730 is charming and I am tempted to get it ❤️! I have been reading with the 1718 deck for a few months and it has a way of visually dancing. Hard to explain but maybe you will see that too when you read with it.

Thank you for making this video! I was trying to find a video like this a couple weeks ago when I was debating ordering the 1730 deck... I was trying to find out the differences but couldn’t find anything! I’m glad I decided to order it anyway but this would have made that decision much easier! lol

@Kiara Drake , Thank you so much for watching, and apologies for not having this video out earlier! As you had seen in the video, I only managed to get 1718 Heri very recently using a loyalty coupon in one of my local shops! I A D O R E Heri 1730 and look forward to hearing what you think of it, once it arrives, lovely! ❤️

The 1730 deck is a Besancon deck. It’s a traditional Tarot de Marseille with Jupiter and Juno substituting for the Papesse and Pope. Besançon was just one of several cities where the deck was manufactured, but this name stuck to the style.

Yes, Heri 1730 is a Besançon Tarot, as stated by Yves Reynaud, Jules, and a very lovely one, too. And while I see it as a Marseille-type deck, I’m aware some purists don’t, attributing TdM influence to it, while referring to it as Tarot de Besançon (opposed to Marseille).

That Tarot Lady How exciting you have signed up for his course, Cindy! 😊 When it comes to the books, I have 4, that I really like: Marseille Tarot Reveiled by Yoav Ben-Dov, Untold Tarot by Caitlin Matthews, Marseille Tarot - Towards the Art of Reading by my teacher Camelia Elias, and of course the huge tome of JM David’s Reading the Marseille Tarot. I do really need to make a video on those books...

I think those are the initials of Hans Buolman.

The idea that the letters H B stand for Heri Besancon is improbable as the pattern was not associated with Besancon until a later period, with the decks produced by Jacob Jerger & his successors in Besancon from c1800 to c1875.
